We're a deal...We aren't a supply and demand market. We're a dealer-user market.

For supply and demand to work, the suppliers are balanced by demand's power to decrease and force a price drop.

We're oil junkies. They could charge $10 a gallon and there would still be the demand. We can't run our country without it and when there's no alternative, the supplier has us in their pocket.

Irony: neocons think liberals are pansies. Neocons are the push-overs and cowards. Alternative sources of energy, especially those home-grown, look scarey and expensive. But it gives us the leverage to get tough and demand with power.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-33297721.post-63726909937591674942008-06-06T07:16:00.000-07:002008-06-06T07:16:00.000-07:00OPEC is a cartel. Its very PURPOSE to to overrule supply-and-demand.

You'd think that Tinsley would want George W Bush to lay down the law to his Saudi BFF's: No Cartels; The Free Market Must Rule!

There's a lot more that's crazy about today's cartoon, but I went for the easy one first. Tinsley makes me lazy.rewinnhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14008105385364113371noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-33297721.post-64595617941478087822008-06-06T07:02:00.000-07:002008-06-06T07:02:00.000-07:00Damn. That's what comes up for "Bush energy policy," after all.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-33297721.post-30010547369600504982008-06-06T06:14:00.000-07:002008-06-06T06:14:00.000-07:00If the law of supply and demand has gotten us wher...If the law of supply and demand has gotten us where we are now, it damn well better be repealed.

I'm pretty sure that Tinsley has no idea what Obama's energy policy is. He's just operating on the "Obama is a liberal, liberals hate the free market, therefore Obama must want to repeal the law of supply and demand" level. As usual, he is obviously uninformed.

If you Google "Obama energy policy", the first hit goes to Obama's website, where there is a clearly written, detailed explanation of the things he would propose on energy and the environment. Google "Mccain energy policy" and it turns out he once made a speech about that.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
