That damned Soup

What's Mallard raving about today?

Cavemen, Soup.

Isn't that cute. Mallard is trying to use a scientific term. Of course, he has no idea what he's talking about, but it's still cute.

That damned Mars

What's Mallard raving about today?

Global Warming.

Mallard Fillmore: Though I have no understanding of science whatever, the fact that I am a useful idiot for corporate interests (who, incidentally, do not have my best interests at heart) gives me the chutzpah to comment on science.

Those damned Sciences

What's Mallard raving about today?

Science. College.

Mallard Fillmore, noted how-can-global-warming-be-real-if-it-is-cold-outside-ologist and one of the world's foremost Republican mathematicians. is appalled that this young man did not pursue a degree in Math or Science.

I honestly wonder sometimes what it is like going through life so blissfully stupid and unaware.

That damned CO2

What's Mallard raving about today?

Earth Day.

Seriously? Stop breathing? That's what you have for Earth Day?

Oh, and your scientific knowledge is as impressive as ever.

That damned book

What's Mallard raving about today?

Spring, Al Gore.

It's dark outside right now! The sun has gone away forever!

I would ask whether Mallard is stupid enough to actually believe that this constitutes critical thought.

But he amply demonstrated recently that you can't really go wrong underestimating his intelligence.

So, yeah, he is that stupid.

That damned Shock

What's Mallard raving about today?

Stuff that could kill you.

Mallard wins the bet on how many times he could cram the phrase "kill you" into a single strip.

Honestly, has Mallard given up all pretense to making sense?

Those damned Lists

What's Mallard raving about today?

2010, President Obama, The New York Times, Scientists.

My prediction...Mallad will continue to griping about the same made up stuff he's been flogging since 1994.

That damned Evidence

What's Mallard raving about today?

Global Warming, Dinosaurs.

If by "primitive SUVs" you mean a massive series of volcanic eruptions...

It's hilarious to me that Mallard feels evidence of Global Climate change at other periods of the Earth's history is proof that the current Global Warming is not being caused or exacerbated by human activity.

The level of intelligence demonstrated by this type of sophomoric thinking helps one understand why Mallard can't stand science, in general.

That damned songwriter

What's Mallard raving about today?

Singer Songwriters.

4 days after a historic election, Mallard decides it's time to return to bitching about nothing in particular, just his general hatred of humanity in general and his hatred of hippies in particular.

And to do this, he posits a scenario in which scientists (the same scientists he derides constantly regarding climate change) trace an event from the future back to an event in our past.

How irrelevant is Mallard trying to be?

That damned Energy

What's Mallard raving about today?

Energy, People.

Combining his intense hatred of two things--people and climate change science--Mallard comes up with the worst pun of the 21st century.

Nice work.

Those damned projects

What's Mallard raving about today?

Science projects, Back-to-School.

That's Mallard Fillmore, ladies and gentlemen. Promoting smug superiority from cradle to grave.

Those damned studies

What's Mallard raving about today?

Vitamins, Coffee, Experts.

1. I don't believe contradictory means what you think it does, Mallard, since there is nothing contradictory about the studies you are citing.

2. I sincerely doubt that many American harbor the same violent fetishes that you do, Mallard.

That damned coffee

What's Mallard raving about today?

Coffee, bathrooms.

Apparently Mallard isn't skeptical of all science. Just science that doesn't conform to his political views.

That damned species

What's Mallard raving about today?

Climate Change, Polar Bears, Humans.

With Mallard providing the example, that Polar Bear's got a fair question.

That damned legislation

What's Mallard raving about today?

Jupiter, Polar Bears, Global Warming

Speaking for the polar bears, that's a good thing, considering that the lack of an Oxygen atmosphere on Jupiter would (among other things) kill the bears.

Those damned Activists

What's Mallard raving about today?

Global-Warming Activists, Mars, Jupiter, SUVs.

If Global-Warming activists did believe that it was caused only by Republican activity, they would demonstrate as much understanding of Scienece as Ignorant-of-all-this-Science-Stuff-and-Proud-of-it Mallard.

As it is, however, this Straw Man argument is tired and lacks Evil Sun.

That damned Science

What's Mallard raving about today?

Global Warming.

Uncool, Mallard. Really uncool. Under no circumstances should you write something like this without including everybody's favorite Mallard character, Evil Sun.

It's also not cool to conflate periodic moderate changes in planetary temperature based on solar activity with the sudden and historically rapid change in Earth's temperature which the vast majority of the non-lobbyist scientific community agree has been exacerbated by human activity.

But, I want to focus on what's really important here...no Evil Sun!

Those damned bears

What's Mallard raving about today?

Polar Bears, Straw Men.

Because polar bear population has increased during a period of time, nothing is wrong. Trust Mallard, he is not cherry-picking his information.

Pay no attention to the article...
Although the population of bears has grown from a low of about 12,000 in the late 1960s to approximately 25,000 today, our scientists advise me that computer modeling projects a significant population decline by the year 2050," [Interior Secretary Dirk] Kempthorne said. "This, in my judgment, makes the polar bear a threatened species--one likely to become in danger of extinction in the foreseeable future.

That damned asterisk

What's Mallard raving about today?

The Smithsonian, Global Cooling.

As a public service to readers of this blog, I am going to help you find the information Mallard is talking about, which is on Townhall.com.

Having not been to the Smithsonian, I am unwilling (unlike Mallard) to comment on two items found on exhibits but taken out of their context and presented in isolation.

What is, however, fairly interesting to me is that "Scientists" have clearly joined the list of groups under attack from Mallard as small-minded bigots. The criteria for appearing on said list...hold a different opinion than one held by Mallard. Make of that what you like.
