Don't you hate it when someone hires someone to do something and it turns out he's really, really stunningly terrible at it, but for some reason they keep paying him even though he's a mean-spirited little fuckwit and everyone hates him? Don't you hate that, Tinsley?
Wait, ok, so Tinsley is against seniority? I mean I've seen arguments about why companies abandon it but this is a really clumsy way of arguing it if that's what he's trying to do. Hell, in cases of education given the amount of burnout that a lot of teachers suffer, many of whom end up leaving the profession, having benefits for those that are willing to stay in the trenches for 6+ years would seem to be a good way of keeping people in the profession.
I think Brucie's problem is that he believes that teachers get promoted just like students. You know, you teach 3rd Grade this year, next year you teach 4th Grade, etc. (if you're a "good" teacher and get promoted).
At least that's what his parents told him when Little Brucie asked why he had the same teacher every year.
Prior to unions and seniority systems, public employees were the hapless tools of elected officials. Ensuring that their bosses got re-elected was more important than actually doing their jobs.
Unions have their problems but they're a lot better than going back.
Trying to pretend today's strip doesn't exist? I don't blame you, Davey. It is literally so vile and warped that it has been clinically proven to cause rats in laboratory cancer.
WV: suressin. Suressin and taxes, God once again demonstrated His non-existence by declining to command that the Earth open and swallow Bruce Tinsley, sending him back to his birthplace in HELL ITSELF the way he's deserved all these years.

Those who can, do.
Those who can't, bitch.
Those who resent anybody who can bitches bout teachers.
Jeez, Bruce. I know you're upset that you never actually got past the third grade, but it's not your teacher's fault.

How dare those teachers who have been doing their jobs for numerous years ask for more pay then Bob who just started today as a janitor.
That doesn't even make sense!
What the hell?
