It's so unfair that liberals criticize this strip over at GoComics. We're all trolls for doing it. They should be left in peace to have their little place to go and judge all Democrats as evil and misguided, and all Republicans as idiots without taste or intelligence.
Because the comics page is a place for good Americans to feel, well, not so much better about themselves, but at least worse about everone else.
Of mild personal interest from a conservative commenter at GoComics:
Early Sunday morning and already the leftists are out worshiping their Lord and Savior Obummer.
Pretty typical comment, except for the fact that nobody from either side has mentioned or referred to Obama in any way.
I asked if he writes all his comments at the beginning of the week. I expect more of what passes for reasoned discourse from the other side. (Yeah, personal abuse. What, you've been there too?)
I haven't bothered to register on GoComic's new site, since it would take a couple of minutes, and I refuse to put more work into commenting on Mallard Fillmore than the "artist" does drawing it.
I don't remember how long it took me. It was a while back. I comment on other strips, so it wasn't like I was spending the time just to be able to comment with the Mallardettes.
I don't think GoComics has Mallard. Comics Kingdom farms it out to newspaper sites like OregonLive.com, where you can comment via Disqus (as a guest if you wish, and don't want the yo-yos stalking you).
But yeah: if you aren't screaming "BENGHAZI!! 24/7, then as far as the Palinites are concerned you must be an O-bot.
Their insults are repetitive and mindless, but still great fun.
So, what's this supposed to be? IRS? How long before the geniuses in the Koch party decide that the whole NSA thing is a trick to deflect attention from the IRS? There's the real scandal: people paying taxes!
Meanwhile, at the Comic Kingdom board, a new performance artist, Ned, has begun to try and see if he can write a typical screed so full of inanity that the right-thinkers there will say "Hey, wait a minute."
Alas, Poe's Law casts its shadow over the whole thing. Already, one of the regular lefties on the board has taken him at face value.
SB, you here? I strongly suspect the guy's a false flag op.
Then again, there are serious guys there who sound just like him.
So Garry Trudeau is taking a sabbatical for the summer (my local paper is running a substitute strip instead of "Doonesbury" reruns). With nothing motivating him to provide "balance", will Bruce start putting even less effort into "Mallard Fillmore" than usual? The mind reels at the possibilities: Stick figures? Blank panels with captions reading simply "Obama joke" or "Pop culture reference"?
I'm pretty sure we're seeing a default comic today. If he loses the connection to the mothership, he automatically switches over to a default complaint. We're at one of his most basic, the plague of false accusations of racism that we've been enduring ever since those people got loose.
Duck imputes opinions to the media that nobody actually holds outwith the stupid, lazy, toxic, paranoid, Toby-Keith-themed brainmeats of Republicans and other Fox News employees. Film at 11.
Okay, here's why the whole week's been filler so far. He was working on a drawing of Anthony Weiner, and it took that long for him to find somebody else's drawing to work from.
I have to give him points for not only remembering to tell a joke, but basing it on the truth and nothing but, even if it does fall somewhat short of the whole truth in all its glorious aspects.
Nice thing about today's strip is it allows me to repeat myself (not from here, I posted this on twitter)- Republicans can't make Anthony Weiner jokes unless they also acknowledge Mark Sanford.
Man, whatever he was going to say about Anthony Weiner today, before the vestigial editor blocked it, must've been bright blue. Or maybe yesterday's strip was the replacement for something the vestigial editor flagged as legally actionable. As always, I'm just guessing at what the vestigial editor is thinking (besides the obvious "What sins could a man commit in a single lifetime?").
Really, that's a hurricane? I would have guessed it was some sort of obese tornado.
Anyway, what a relief to know it is in no way politicizing natural disasters to go on denying they have anything to do with global warming, and to deny global warming is even happening, simply because you hate environmentalists, Al Gore, and those damn hippies.
I'm pretty sure Tinsley believes a hurricane to be a really big tornado — but it wasn't labeled. Maybe he was referring to the natural disaster of a visit from Jay "Dennis the Menace" North in Tee Vee Land.
Anyway, they're all squiggles. Eyes on the prize here.

It's time for Right-Wing Riddles!
Q: How can you tell if something's wrong with Greek yogurt?
A: Does Obama eat Greek yogurt? ...THEN IT'S WRONG WRONG WRONG!!

JUST ANOTHER MANIC MONDAY
My dad said he liked today's strip and I wouldn't. He was right, but at least Tinz kinda-sorta remembered to tell a joke.
MONDAY

Eh, never mind. He's flaming out.

That made me laugh, Frank.
So, no, it couldn't be.
TUESDAY
Tinsley's back to the "you must think we're all racists" c card.
hic
sux.
Tinsley's back to the "NBC throws around random accusations of racism" card.
Fixed that for you. Now if only someone would fix Tinz for it. Or else fix his audience's brainmeats.
I'm pretty sure we're seeing a default comic today. If he loses the connection to the mothership, he automatically switches over to a default complaint. We're at one of his most basic, the plague of false accusations of racism that we've been enduring ever since those people got loose.
WEDNESDAY
Duck says thing. Stares directly at reader. Film at 11.
Duck imputes opinions to the media that nobody actually holds outwith the stupid, lazy, toxic, paranoid, Toby-Keith-themed brainmeats of Republicans and other Fox News employees. Film at 11.
Fixed that for you, Kip.
All that was clearly implied by "duck says thing," but I don't suppose it hurts to say it now and then.

1. Not overtly hateful
2. An actual punchline - not a great one, but a recognizable one
3. A new "drawing"

The bestest Mallard Fillmore ever!
(see: "d@mning with faint praise")
Rampant trollery at Comics Kingdom. Any guesses on whether they end up shutting down comments on Mallard because of it?
Nice thing about today's strip is it allows me to repeat myself (not from here, I posted this on twitter)-
Republicans can't make Anthony Weiner jokes unless they also acknowledge Mark Sanford.
Think that's gonna happen?
FRIDAY
It's funny because they're worried about 3-D printers, and they're 2-D.

Thanks for the memorial to the 20 first graders who were shot to death on today's 6 month anniversary of Sandy Hook. You piece of shit.
SATURDAY
Bruce draws a hurricane!! It looks like a scribble!! Drawing hurricanes is fun!!!
Really, that's a hurricane? I would have guessed it was some sort of obese tornado.

Hey muhammed, if I want lol and troll, I head over to the Comics Kingdom comments for Mallard Fillmore!
ba-dump bump!
So, um, where's the light switch?
