Those damned Hips

What's Mallard raving about today?

Pants, Hips

Just a week after decrying regulation of soda, Mallard turns to criticizing fat people, with no hint of irony or any sense of connection between the two.

At this point, Mallard spent 3 days on the Affordable Care Act and 2 (so far) on "Pants: why they annoy me so much" (but people deserve a break, not a lecture).

To recap: Mallard Fillmore continues to be one of the most highly contentious and celebrated comic strips, providing a unique conservative viewpoint to the comics pages. Mallard Fillmore has been a lightning rod for controversy with the right-leaning duck consistently addressing hot button issues and lampooning liberal politicians, the media and cultural establishments.

So if people are too fat, the government has to regulate soda sizes? OK, that makes perfect sense.

Anonyrast has ended his period of mourning for his role model, it would seem. Sorry, Anon, but Sandusky's gone for good.

Meanwhile, it's July 3 + 3 weeks. Last chance, Tinshley!

Brews speaks Truth to POWER, if by "Power" you mean people with love handles who wear pants that are too tight.

Hey, AnonyBruce:

And cigarettes give you cancer, so I guess you think that the government shouldn't regulate them so that toddlers can smoke. Stop wearing your hat so tight; people will see how much fat is in your head.

Yep, if this isn't a lightning rod for controversy that is addressing a hot button issue, then nothing is!!!
Mallard's not really criticizing fat people, he can't, not with his beer gut. He's just back on the "No Fat Chicks" bandwagon.

And to Anonymous, it is a republican mayor who wants to regulate soda size. I agree with you, those people are amazing! They want government out of their lives, apparently so they can force it into other people lives.

(*looks up talking points*)

"...And climate change? Not man-made! Not man-made! And I don't know nothin' about corn syrup, 'cause nothin' makes me feel safer than a nice, high, unbreached wall of all-American, self-imposed ignorance!"

(*puts bucket over head and bangs it with a wooden spoon*)

"LA LA LA LA LA! I CAN'T HEAR YOUUUU! YOU MAD, BRO? YOU MAD, BRO? YOU MA--AAACK! My heart! Oh shit, I'm not insured! Save me! This is all Obama's fault!"

Fashion tips.

From a duck who's been wearing the same ratty tweed jacket for the last 15+ years.

Plus at least the people with the sticking-out hips are wearing pants. Just saying.

If wearing pants is not the answer ... what's trying to escape from Mallard that prevents him from wearing pants?

If Mallard wore pants, every time he reaches for an idea, he'd just come up with denim or corduroy.

Maybe it's splitting hairs, but Bloomberg is officially an independent at the current time. He ran as a Republican when he was first elected mayor in 2001, and in the 2009 election he ran against a Democrat and was endorsed by the Republican Party, but he doesn't consider himself to be a member of the party.
