Shorter Mallard Fillmore: Mallard can't be bothered to listen to or understand what other people say to him. But that won;t stop him from feeling persecuted anyway.
Whatever it is, he just knows that wealthy white males would be pilloried for saying it, because nobody lets them say that word they like so much, or those jokes that felt so good to tell, and you can't even point out somebody on the street with an obvious physical disability because everybody but them is so damn sensitive. Can they help it if they're the default case, and must be assumed so forever and ever?
Chantel's so bored with Mallard's company that she's reading the paper at a bar while talking about her sister's love life. --- And as for the "punch line" ... it sounds like *somebody* caught h3ll for saying something he shouldn't have. LOL.
This is, in many ways, the perfect Mallard Fillmore (other than it requiring another character to be drawn).
A saying nobody's ever used is dissected by the duck, who doesn't understand it, but assumes it somehow would be offensive if he said it, thus demonstrating that anyone who isn't like him is a hypocrite. Thus, he is able, by using something he made up, to show that he is more virtuous than anyone else.
Compare to Romney's "apology tour" or "you didn't build that" strategy.
I wonder how many man-hours a day are expended by men complaining that they aren't allowed to say crude things about women, while saying crude things about women?
At least, I'm assuming the statement in the strip is meant to be crude. I've never heard anyone say anything like that in my life.
"I have no idea what that means...but I bet a guy couldn't get away with saying it..."
Brucie - It means she keeps going back for the sex! Get it? The guy's boring but she likes sex with him! As for a guy not be able to say that...Brucie, this is how it works: A guy saying his girlfriend is boring but he keeps going back for the sex is OK. What's not OK, is telling everyone that she's a stupid, whore, slut, bitch!

Yeah, Rush Limbaugh would probably call a guy who said that a slut.

Even shorter: Tinsley fails to understand simple metaphors, even when they are explained.
