That damned Smile

What's Mallard raving about today?

Joe Biden

Mallard Fillmore has given up all pretense that he's even trying.

That smile wasn't so bad. Just a more polite way (and more sensible when on TV) to say "You are so $%#@& lying!" I think that many got the message, which is what the Duck doesn't like.

Translation: "Oh, yeah?! Well -- well -- well -- BIDEN'S GOT BIG TEETH!! NYAAAAAAHHH!!!"

If you all want a real laugh, check out li'l Chuckie Krauthammer's latest column, in which he assumes Kathleen Parker's usual role as Mitt Romney's personal human shield/spin doctor, weaving a hilarious fantasy version of the final presidential debate. Some of the best laugh lines: "Obama lost. His tone was petty and small." "Romney, for his part, showed himself to be fluent enough in foreign policy..." (Way to damn with faint praise there.)

Frank Stone, did Krauthammer already say some of this on TV? I have an impression I saw Colbert 'agreeing' with Krauthammer — "How small was Obama? Charles Krauthammer small!"

Anyway, the comic. I dunno, looks like Tinsley is just getting elliptical and starting to take refuge in an increasingly shattered worldview that shields him from seeing the implications of anything. Thus, Romney is just hair. Obama is just ears. Biden is just teeth. Mallard himself will be reduced to nothing but two haggard, staring eyes over an expressionless beak, like a hideous echo of DUCK AMUCK, floating in a void without panel borders, possibly running into itself.

A smile makes Tinshley sad?

Poor guy is mentally ill.

Kip W: Yes, li'l Chuckie did characterize the debate in the same terms in an interview on Faux News (natch): "Romney went large; Obama went very, very small -- shockingly small."

For some more fun with li'l Chuckie's column, see this item at Media Matters.
