What's Mallard raving about today?
Notre Dame
OK, Mallard...what's your solution? What's going on now is simply the Free Market at work. College Football is a huge business, with the lure of Pro Football even bigger. So the focus is on Football, not academics.
Are you proposing some sort of Nanny State solution in which the law decides who can play football and who can't, based on factors other than their capability to play football?
Because, other than to gripe about something that has a thinly veiled racist element to it, I have no idea what your point is.

That damned Year
What's Mallard raving about today?
College Athletes
In what way would a non-athlete college student provide "entertainment to a lot of people" during his one year at college? Is Mallard advocating prostitution as a means for paying college tuition?
Kidding aside, this may be the stupidest thing Mallard has ever written.

That damned Ignorance
What's Mallard raving about today?
Sports, March Madness
I'd say Mallard was being self-deprecating except that patented smirk in the final panel, of course, recalls every sanctimonious bit of ass-hattery he's engaged in over the past 2+ years and ruins the whole thing.

Those damned Pears
What's Mallard raving about today?
BCS
However, as Mallard pointed out recently, all of College Football must be completely disavowed, because of Penn State.

Those damned Moralists
What's Mallard raving about today?
Hollywood, Child Molestation
I would like to point out to Mallard that, while he feels he is scoring some political points by highlighting child molestation in Hollywood (a favorite bĂȘte noire), by the calculus he is proposing (indict 100% of a cohort in which some are guilty of child molestation) we must indict 100% of College Football, one of his favorite things in the world, as well as College Basketball and the Catholic Church. Plus, you know, Parents.
Look, Mallard, we can condemn child molesters and those who harbor them without bringing cheap political points of view into this. I mean, we can. You, apparently, can't because you are a soulless ideologue.

What's Mallard raving about today?
Athletes, Math.
Someone this bad at basic mathematics should not be casting stones, Mallard.

What's Mallard raving about today?
The BCS.
We interrupt your usual whinging for Mallard's annual whinge about the BCS.
We''l be back to our usual whinging momentarily.

That damned Market
What's Mallard raving about today?
The BCS, Barack Obama.
Without stipulating to Mallard's point, I would like to point out that this moment in history, one in which the Free Market collapsed the entire World's economy, is an odd one to be taking sides with the side of the Market. Good luck with that.
I'd also like to point out that it is the Bush Administration which is currently nationalizing the Banking Industry, will ultimately nationalize the Auto Industry, and eventually probably the Airlines.

What's Mallard raving about today?
Barack Obama, College Football.
Given how often Mallard bitches about the BCS, I would think that would be enough for him.

That damned Insanity
What's Mallard raving about today?
The BCS, Insanity.
You know what doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result is the opposite of?
Change.
You want an example of doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result?
Voting for John McCain.

Those damned football champs
What's Mallard raving about today?
New Hampshire, College Football.
I admit I don't follow College Football, but I'd no idea they pick their champions through a lengthy primary process culminating in a national election for members of an Electoral College who, ultimately, decide upon the National Champion.
You'd think I would have heard about something like that.

That damned pig
What's Mallard raving about today?
Congress, Republicans, College Football, Flying Pigs.
If, in Mallard's little fantasy world, "pigs can fly" why would Mallard need to be able to "land" it? Wouldn't he just have to hang on while the pig, you know, flew?
Once again demonstrating that Mallard's limited grasp of the English language is the basis for his hatred toward Education.
On the plus side...the back of Walter Williams' head makes a cameo. Unless that's Alan Keyes. Or Barack Obama?

Those damned parties
What's Mallard raving about today?
Kentucky, New Year's Eve.
I'm sure Mallard is as shocked as every one of us that he's received an invitation to a party. But that does not excuse telling someone you are (or will be) sitting at home in your pajamas. That is just creepy by any measure.

Those damned Broncos
What's Mallard raving about today?
Boise State, College Football.
When we last left Mallard's obsessive complaining about college football and Boise State, the panel featured a grotesque drawing of an anthropomorphic Bronco with its arms on backward.
Today we get a caricature of a person, who I--and probably 90% of the world--can only assume is Boise State's head coach from the context.
And we are left with the question of how Mallard, his fat ass ensconced in a beige blob which is only convincing as a pillow and a Yellow Box of Snack FoodTM (Made in China) in his lap, is privy to pre-game motivational speeches.

Those damned coaches
What's Mallard raving about today?
Football season, coaches, cash.
For God's sake, Mallard said "To coaches" then got wrapped up in his bitching and moaning and forgot to end the sentence in a manner recognizeable to the English-speaking world.
Is it just me, or is Mallard getting more incoherent recently?

Those damned Wildcats
What's Mallard raving about today?
The Chicago Cubs, LA Clippers, and Kentucky Wildcats.
This panel illustrates exactly what is so desperately wrong about this vanity exercise masquerading as a comic.
Usually Mallard has a right-wing bias to it, which obviously irritates many people. But that bias is not what is wrong with Mallard Fillmore.
What's wrong is that it is just an excuse for Mallard to vomit up whatever is on his mind, no matter how parochial in nature, with absolutely no attempt at humor.

Those damned Bowl Games
What's Mallard raving about today?
Bowl Games, Boise State.
I truly love panels like this because it affirms that Mallard is not just an irrational, frothing-at-the-mouth, right-wing crank. In fact, he's an irrational, frothing-at-the-mouth, general purpose crank (with an admittedly right-wing bent).
That said the drawing of the bronco, whose head (or arms) appear to have been placed onto his body backwards, is just creeping me out.

That damned BCS rating system
What's Mallard raving about today?
The BCS rating system, Samoan linemen.
Considering that the BCS' first poll comes out somewhere around mid-October, this outrage is a bit premature.
