That damned Volt

What's Mallard raving about today?

Chevy Volt, Presidential Debates.

I'm not even going to touch whatever right wing dog whistle is going on here, as I am not current on the current non-troversy/fauxtrage over the Chevy Volt. And I am not going to spend time on Fox or Townhall to find out.

I will point out that Mallard was able to time this strip to coincide with the Presidential debates. A feat he was not able to replicate when it came to September 11th, which he completely forgot and/or ignored.

Why do you hate America, Mallard?

What DaveyK said.

Yes, Bruce -- we haven't forgotten.

September 11 was three weeks ago yesterday. It's now well beyond the point where you would have realized, as the date passed, that you neglected to produce your usual strip ostentatiously proclaiming your reverence for 9/11. The fact that you have not seen fit to address your glaring and grotesquely hypocritical oversight since then, even in the most oblique and feebly defensive way, leaves only three possible conclusions to be drawn:

1) You hoped that no one noticed your monumental fuck-up, and so you weren't about to draw attention to it by addressing it after the fact.
2) You were well aware that people (like us) did notice your monumental fuck-up, but you resolved to studiously ignore them until they went away.
3) After ten years of "never forget", you decided that it's OK to forget 9/11 after all.

Whatever the case, Bruce, know this: You're a fraud.

And know also that unlike those who died on 9/11 and in Bush's wars, when your wretched and pathetic excuse for a comic strip eventually dies, no one will remember or care that it ever existed.

Exactly. I was going to point it out in comments, but our host made that unnecessary.

Frank, would it be okay if I cleaned this up and submitted it, crediting you, as a letter to the editor of my local duck-running paper? I ask this only because I'm biologically unable to seahorse your babies.

This election cycle, we're going with the story that it would have been better to let American automakers go belly-up, because it would be good for their character, and if you strike them down now, they'll become more powerful than you can imagine.

Neo Tuxedo: Be my guest.

And to address the actual "content" of today's strip: Yeah, fuel efficiency is a real laff riot, huh?!? Silly Obummer!

Back when the GOP were economic patriots, they supported government help for the aeronatical industry; basic airliner design (jet engines hung on swept-back wings) comes right from our military and made our nation #1 in the industry for decades (Airbus can compete only with massive government help.)

Today's GOP would be against it. Piston engines were good enough for the Wright brothers!

Why Mitt Romney wants the Chinese to dominate the solar industry may be a mystery to some, but in condemning support for the solar industry at the debate, he's showing his true loyalty.
