Mallard thinks he's Columbo, turning back from the door with a well timed "Oh, and there's just one udder thing…"

Too bad all his factoids were already shown to be greasy duck poo. Kind of ruins the exit, getting Tinsley on his shoe.

How much time and resources were spent drawing the exact same head four fucking times?

I must admit, I visited Mallard/Bruce's new website, and the bottom of the page contains quite possibly the most genuinely funny thing Bruce has ever produced: a drawing of President Obama holding a picket sign bearing Mallard's face with a prohibition symbol over it. 'Cuz, y'know, Obama is opposed to Mallard Fillmore. Because Mallard Fillmore poses a threat to him. Because in addition to being a brutal, vicious, dictatorial monster who destroys his enemies without hesitation or mercy, Obama is a wussy little weenie who cowers under his desk quaking in terror at the thought of a cartoon duck saying mean things about him.

Truthiness to power, baby!!

Launched September 23, and first mentioned three weeks or so later. Last post, October 9. Ho hum, it gets so boring after a couple of times.

Re Tuesday: I can only speculate that the line in the second panel is a reference to Miley Cyrus's VMA performance, because it's never specified. Which means the punchline requires the reader to hazard a guess based on prior knowledge about a completely different subject than the one used to set up the strip.

This is the sort of amateurish incompetence one would expect from a complete novice, but would never actually see because the editor would have had the cartoonist correct it before the strip ever saw print -- thus demonstrating once again that A) wingnut welfare recipients are not held to anything resembling professional standards and B) Bruce is the living embodiment of the old adage, "Beware the artisan who boasts of twenty years' experience at his craft, when in fact he has only had one year of experience -- twenty times."

The Mallard Fillmore blog is predictably lacking in effort.

The comment section is predictably populated with supporters who applaud Tinsley's heroic truth-to-power approach in the face of the oppressive liberal media relegating his artwork to the classified section or other broadsheet sewers.

One useful bit of information I did get from the blog was an alert to the fact that the Miley Cyrus topic was going to span multiple days. After all, Bruce worked up a caricature of Cyrus (that hasn't appeared yet, but it's only day 2) so you know he's got to milk the concept.

Way to skewer culural norms. Everybody twerks, especially prominent Democrats who do underwear dances in your dreams.

Now our doughty lightning rod of the right has put himself on Miley Cyrus's enemies list for sure!

So, what do y'all figure, three weeks or so til a mess of "The librul media is all mean to poor sweet Ted Cruz" strips?

Kip W said...

Well, if Cruz doesn't have a nine-inch long neck or a ten-inch long chin, it'll take Tinsley longer to figure out how to draw him.

Re Thursday: Your concern trolling about restrictions on free speech isn't fooling anybody, Mallard. We all know you're just pissed that you can't say "NI@@ER" or "FA@@OT" in public without getting dirty looks.

WV: dsnacks: So that's what Mallard's always eating while he's vegetating in front of the TV!

SATURDAY
"Good news, Mr. Fuehrerbater! Your colonoscopy is going to be turned into a major motion picture! They're calling it THE MALLARD FILLMORE STORY!"

I wish we still did Comment of the Week; Kip's was what I believe the young people call an "epic win".
