That damned Chancellor

What's Mallard raving about today?

Schools, Michelle Rhee

Mallard, your timing in holding Michelle Rhee out as a role model is absolutely impeccable.

As someone who has family who works with the NEA, and knows first hand what they actually do, it is my humble suggestion that Tinsly should feel free to go play in traffic.

Also, irony at tins pretending he's NOT all about maintaining a busted status quo.

Also, the irony of Tinsley pretending he gives a damn about education, when all he really cares about is indoctrination, Texas-textbook style.

You mean Michelle Rhee falsely elevated students' scores to rake in bonuses for teachers and principals? Sounds like a conservative to me! No wonder Tinsley has a hard-on for her.

The party that gave us for-profit schools and "No Child Left Behind" really cares about education. Whoops! I told a joke!

No one has accused Michelle Rhee of falsifying the scores; rather the administration and staff at the school in question is under scrutiny. (Sorry for the interruption in your droning hatred of conservatives. Carry on.)

Um, Anonynsley? The point being made in the linked article, and here at D&C, is that the gains touted by Rhee are likely fake.

"...erasure rates found at Noyes and at other D.C. public schools are so statistically rare, and yet showed up in so many classrooms, that they should be examined thoroughly."

Sorry for the interruption in your transparent attempt to change the framing.

And yet why don't I feel comforted that Florida governor Rick Scott chose Michelle Rhee to head up his education transition team? Of course, it's my "hatred of conservatives" not that I'm skeptical of Rhee's vision of education reform or frightened by Scott's naked ambition to scuttle public schools.

A nation that cuts education, cuts its own throat.

We all know what Anonyrast's really thinking whenever he reads the words "public schools." It's certainly not test scores that leap to his mind.

This is a good point at which to observe the propaganda mill's seamless transition from "Michelle Rhee: Conservative educational miracle-worker" to "Hey, you can't prove the cheating was her doing", as stated by our Anonymelonfucker.

Of course, when you confuse standardized test scores with real educational achievement, this is what will happen, as is perfectly obvious to anyone who knows even the tiniest thing about education, or about human nature for that matter.

...because Dullard Failmore is noted for its fair-minded balance.

And, if the past is any example, we're only days away from a strip about "HURR HURR Edumacated people are ELITIST SCUM! BRUCE HATE PUNY SMART PEOPLE!"

Re Rhee: can this finally be the last nail in the coffin of Waiting for "Superman", please? Can we finally just agree to slap anyone who holds it up as anything but propaganda?

WV: humsixer. What Anonyrast had to be chemically neutered to keep from wanting to do.
