That damned Idea

What's Mallard raving about today?

FDR, Unions.

Ummmmmm....Mallard, what FDR actually said was this:
...a strike of public employees manifests nothing less than an intent on their part to prevent or obstruct the operations of Government until their demands are satisfied. Such action, looking toward the paralysis of Government by those who have sworn to support it, is unthinkable and intolerable.
Not that public sector unions or collective bargaining for public sector employees is unthinkable or intolerable. But that strikes are unthinkable and intolerable. Big difference to anyone sporting near-human intelligence, which explains why you fail to see the difference.

But while we're on the subject...here's a question for you Mallard...which President said this? "Where Collective Bargaining is forbidden, freedom is lost."

I'll give you a hint...it's a President who wouldn't be very popular among theTeabaggers

...so was Tinsley just BORN without a sense of shame, or did his poisonous ideology just gradually eat it away?

Even if Roosevelt had said exactly what Tinsley distorts into his mouth, my reaction would be exactly the same: BFDR.

As has been pointed out, the duck is reading headlines to somebody again. The suit makes it definite that he's not reading for pleasure or for his own information (farcical concepts anyway). So it looks like WFDR has been forced, probably by a union, to reinstate their Equal Opportunity duck. Gotta keep biting that hand!

I'm reminded of Lotz Real Estate back in Newport News, Virginia, whose right to have a giant neon "JESUS IS COMING" sign was upheld by the commie Supreme Court, who they continued to lambaste on their signboard out front.

(The signboard generally reinforced the message of the large sign, so that one side almost always said: JESUS IS COMING / RAPTURE NEXT MAJOR EVENT. One time at work, after wrapping up a sort of festival the company had hosted, a fellow employee with whom I'd had theological discussions made the mistake of asking me what the next major event was.)

OK, Mallard -- name one public-sector union leader who has described FDR as a "right-wing, tea-partying hatemonger" (or anything equivalent to that).

Yeah, that's what I thought.

By the way, Bruce: That's not a half-bad likeness of FDR. Where did you trace it from?

Is Mallard Fillmore's blatant lying becoming more obvious?

It's not like it really matters; he's not an opinion leader - just another brick in the wall of the reichwing echo chamber.

I'm sure he just did a copy/paste of this straight from a freeper comment or World Nut Daily. It's not like he has the intellectual curiosity to check the veracity of his own "facts".

Either that or he's just a fucking liar.

As a life rule, whenever you see ellipses in a quote, 95% of the time it is some bullshit edit job someone cherry picked to prove their point.

Too bad Fillmore's target demographic isn't computer savvy enough to know what Google is.

I copied a quote from somewhere and added an illustration:
"Don't Reload ... Recall!"
It took 10 minutes.

Can I be published by King Features too?
