Those damned seniors

What's Mallard raving about today?

High-school seniors and their foreign counterparts.

In tomorrow's Mallard Fillmore:

Mallard continues his education call to arms with a grass-roots campaign in favor of an increase in the budget for the Department of Education and a hike in his Local, State, and Federal taxes in order to improve education across America.

Mallard also points out that the decrease in education standards occurred during the period of Republican ascendancy since Richard Nixon.

Actually, Tinsley is against federal education, and as fare as I know, advocate private schools.

Since it's Saturday, we could have a Sunday strip devoted to the suckiness of public schools (since it's timeless - heee heee, the schools that score less get more federal funding AND all the rich people leave it's the teacher's fault) and awesomeness that is private schools.

Which always score better on state tests for NCLB.

Do you know why?

They look at an applicant's scores from their public school year and only accept smart (or rich enough to pass for smart) kids, while public schools get everyone.

But it's the public school's fault, somehow.

Actually, right now, my counselors at my public high school are at fault and deserve an old lady beat down for sending the University an incomplete transcript that says I never graduated! Argh! When I'm being denied things for not graduating this spring, because I ALREADY GRADUATED.

That might turn me into a bitter crank, ranting and raving about the evils of education.

Or not.

Probably the second.
