What's Mallard raving about today?
Hugo Chavez, the 20th century.
When I first looked at this panel, I was sure that caricature was supposed to be Al Gore.
Which led me to notice that today's panel has 4 standard Mallardisms: a bad caricature, a bad caricature with eyes closed, a bad caricature with a disturbingly lumpy index finger, ellipses with an extra dot.
Of these, that last one bugs me the most because, goddamn it, it would be so easy to fix.

Those aren't ellipses, those are Fillipses(TM), and they're awesome because they start out big and get smaller and smaller, until they just fade into infinity with their length and their smallness. It's actually a startling new innovation in the English language, and we should all feel privileged to witness it.
Who slept through what? Perhaps the seizure of the media had more to do with the fact that they were actively involved in the failed coup attempt to oust the democraticly elected Chavez.
But I guess Turdsley isn't interested in that little detail.
I hope that in 100 years, some smug and talentless cartoonist will mock people who think like Tinshley for not paying attention.
Heck, I hope that in 10 years, that happens. Or one. Tomorrow would be even better
I swear he must scribble off these cartoons in less than 8 seconds. There has to be a better way to word that punchline than implying Chavez is over 100 years old.
