That damned Media

What's Mallard raving about today?

Teabaggers, The Media.

I know this is true because I never watch anything other than Fox, and they said this during their 24x7 promotion of Teabagging.

I'm not sure exactly what they did expect from the media. More treatment like FOX?

Isn't it truly ironic that while they don't want big gov't to take care of them, they do expect the media to?

This is actually a true accounting of the press coverage. They did either mock or ignore all the protests.

Wait--he said "tea party protests," not "pre-Iraq war protests." My mistake !!

Right-wingers in 2002: hur hur dirty hippie protesters. You stoopid hippies. Get a job, hippies!

Right-wingers in 2009: WHY WON'T ANYONE TAKE OUR AWESOME PROTESTS SErIOUSLY?! LET'S DISPLAY THAT RUGGED INDIVIDUALISM FOR WHICH WE ARE KNOWN BY ENDLESSLY WHINING ABOUT IT!

This comic is true, other than one major network devoted its entire week to the silly things, every other channel covered it and it graced the cover of EVERY NEWSPAPER NATIONWIDE. And he'd have a point about all the coverage being negative...if he ignored every media outlet but MSNBC's nightly pundit block. Most were treating this as some populist death knell for the Obama presidency. The guy is just an outright liar, or more likely drew this in advance of the tea parties so as not to cut into his glug-glug time.

I wish I could live in a world like Tinsley's where I just assert and no matter how much of a lie, I convince myself it's true. Hey guys, I'm a millionaire with a Tuscan villa and I'm married to Marissa Miller!

Are Republican ducks the whiniest whing minority ever? Or is that just Republicans in general?

D'oh - nice first post. I believe I meant "whining", not "whing".

Kyle -

Get a grip, man. You DO NOT want to live in a world like Tinkley's.

CW - I rather like Whing. Could be the future name of the Repugnicant Party

I notice that Dukcy has spent the last week (!) complaining about how MEAN everyone's been to the teabaggers, but not once tried explain why they're wrong about the teabaggers...

Seems as if the Tea Party Protests certainly did get the Duck & Cover regulars panties in a twist... :) You people are really boring.

Oprah KFC Coupon Riot! I don't eat KFC chicken and have never watched "The Oprah." But...I found this quite amusing. Just what we need another race riot. Possibly this summer she will be giving coupons for a free watermelon and some Colt 45 Malt Liquor. If there were problems with the chicken hand out, wait until the folks attempt to score the free Malt Liquor. Can I hear a hallelujah for "The Oprah"?

Byron York? Is that you?

I think it's real cute how Obama's election has freed people like anonymous loser to let their inner racists come out and play. I guess it's true: annoying liberals really IS more important to them than winning elections. We, happily, get to both win elections AND annoy stormfront losers like nony! It's the best of both worlds!

Okay, we've been graced by Teabagger Protests coverage all week. Did anything of note happen after that or are we in for another week of Tinsley complaining that a nationwide protest, composed of fewer people than a single New York anti-war protest in 2003, was under-reported?

Considering how few Americans turned out, I'd say the coverage the protests got was grossly *over-reported*.

Let's use a neocon argument now!

Racist anon, you're just jealous of Oprah and her wealth.

To be more serious, what probably stings is the fact that when Oprah endorses something or someone, they tend to win, something I don't think any other TV or radio personality can claim. Apparently this includes coupons. Yes, there is hypocrisy, but the hypocrisy being pointed out is the fact that she put her name to a food company that is known to abuse animals when last year she got awards from PETA.

Race wasn't really mentioned except by the I'm-not-racist-but-ers. And it must be absolutely embarrassing that a free coupon not being honored generated that much protest.

I used one of those KFC coupons. It wasn't worth the free.

Racistnonymous makes a good point.

If Oprah Winfrey can compel people to wait an hour or more in line for a $4 chicken dinner, what does the Tea Party attendance say about the influence wielded by Rush Limbaugh and colleagues?
