Ironically, the lack of violence was the redeeming quality of the whole thing. Speaking as a liberal who comes from a state that has a rather fatal record of war protests.
No, it really was the fact that it was over hyped, not spontaneous, under attended, not cohesive, and ridiculously themed. What was supposed to be a boiling point looked more like bad-weather parades in a small towns.
You know what else I hate? I hate that the annual Great American Jeep Rally isn't heavily promoted by Ford, Toyota, Nissan and Suzuki. And I don't understand why CBS, ABC and Fox don't show commercials for NBC's "Chuck".
Damned liberal-biased car companies and/or TV networks.
I can see why Mallard is upset when a group of proud Americans get together to protest in large numbers and only get mocked by the media. Oops, I was thinking of the 4-20 "smokeout" protests, not teabagging. My bad.
First, the preceeding comments are intelligent, funny but not cruel, reasonably concise, and on different yet relevant aspects of the topic of discussion. The reichwing either can not or WILL not do the same. (A special thanks to Michael for the reminder that most of us opposed in public what Tinkley now claims to oppose in private. If he won't risk his paycheck for his principles, we have some idea of the size of the latter.)
Second: why is Mallard complaining about the media coverage of Teabagging when he ignored it himself?
Why did it take Mallard so long to start pimping the teabaggers? Didn't FOX send him a press release four weeks in advance so he could have it in the comic when it spontaneously occurred?
Maybe they did, but it took him this long to think of something 'humorous' to say about it. Next time, they should also send him some jokes, so he can be at least as funny as the "Half Hour Newshour."
Aww... poor little Teabaggers didn't get all the media love they wanted...
Sucks to be them, I guess. Actual protests are HARD. The media mocks you, the police harass you, and the nation is inclined to just ignore you. If the Right wants to play at protesting they're going to need to get a little thicker skinned.

So what's it say about the media when they give waaaay more attention to the teabaggers than to the largest protest in human history?

Two points:

I dunno... the protests had a high idiotic-sign-to-participant ratio, and that always makes for good media coverage.
Kip -- Tinshley probably got the memo from Faux, but chances are he put his empties on it and promptly blacked out.
Either that or Anonycoward stole it from his mailbox to add to his Tinshley shrine/masturbation aid.
Word verification: psyou. As in PS, Anonymous, I'm talking 'bout you.
Tinsdale!
WORLD'S EASIEST PREDICTION:
In about 3 weeks, Mallard Fillmore will feature a hamburger, fancy mustard, and a penis chin.
"Spiny Mallard" wins several internets.

And maybe learn how to use Urban Dictionary.
