That damned Baldwin

What's Mallard raving about today?

Alec Baldwin, Father's Day.

2 months after the fact, Mallard revisits the Alec Baldwin story because, as everyone knows, you can tell everything you need to know about a person from their public mistakes and humiliations.

I'm pretty sure Tinshley wouldn't give two tugs of a dead dog's tail about Baldwin's eruption if he (Baldwin) hadn't announced his intention to move out of the US in the event of a Bush electoral victory. Just as I've come round to the opinion that he (Tinshley) wouldn't continually snipe at the Academy Awards if neither Michael Moore nor George Clooney had ever aired their politics there.

Anyone know if Tinshley has any spawn? Because if he has, (a) I'm so sorry, kids, and (b) someone could always Photoshop together an amusing Father's Day card for them, culminating in their dead old dad's drunk/disheveled/fuckin'-crazy-eyed mugshot.

Just sayin'.

I can forgive Tinshley for rhyming "enthralled when" and "Baldwin" because at least he's making an effort, but there is no excuse for rhyming "rather" and "father."

The oldies radio station I listen to still makes jokes about this too. Is this the funniest thing ever to senior citizens or something?

DLAuthor: according to his online bio, Tinshley (hic) does indeed have two daughters. Pity them, for Daddy has a mugshot.

Unconfirmed rumors inform me that his wife is a Liberal and a lawyer. I cannot put much stock in that; it boggles the mind.

In my meaner moments, I wish someone would draw an equally mean-spirited cartoon of Tinshley (urp), having fallen out of his car and spilling an open container, covered with vomit and screaming his love for his children as an officer cuffs him. Happy Father's Daaaaaaaaaaaaaaay!!

You know, it only just occured to me that "Rather" and "Father" don't rhyme in most parts of America.

Here I was thinking, this rhyme almost works!
