Those damned bears

What's Mallard raving about today?

Supermodels, "causes".

Of course, what's best about this is the implicit assumption that only left-wing celebrities have "causes" because support for something like the Christian Coalition, Operation Rescue, or the NRA is, of course, not a cause.

1. Tinny finally realizes he's milked "bulimia" dry of its comedy value (cough) and drops it.

2. Googly eyes are funnier anyway! Take THAT, you stoopid liberals!

3. Hey, you know what Tinny hasn't foamed at the mouth about lately? The Illegal Immigration "Crisis!" But how to do it without looking like a Grand Wizard? Maybe Stephen Colbert has an idea he can steal...

"People, your taxes are high because of illegal immigrants!"
"Immigants! I knew it was them! Even when it was the bears, I knew it was them!"
--Mayor Quimby and Moe Szyslak, The Simpsons: Much Apu About Nothing

Extra Credit for shoehorning "home invasion" scare into it! BLACKWATCH PLAID!

Tinsley is pissed that all of his favorite supermodels have taken up causes that he disagrees with, so he lashes out in the only way he knows, with another talky incoherent rant.

Have bears really "immigrated" into suburbia? Isn't it the other way around?

My best friend and former roommate was pretty conservative and he HATED it whenever a celebrity would remark on politics, probably because most entertainers are fairly liberal and he disagreed with them. "Shut up and sing" was a common phrase heard in our apartment around election time.

One day, he burst into the living room excited that his hero John Elway was endorsing President Bush. I'll never forget the look on his face when I said "Man, John Elway needs to just shut up and throw."

But anyway, rereading the cartoon, perhaps the real message is that Tinman thinks of himself as a celebrity.

Did he actually get the point, or did he continue to suffer from Margret's Syndrome?

BWD - I thought of Colbert when I saw the title of today's post.

BEARS!!!!!!

Tinz needs a Monkey on the Lam.

As for the strip itself, either he's a moron or he's saying celebrities(liberals) are - suburbs moving into wilderness has been a fact for most of my life.
