That damned Nationalization

What's Mallard raving about today?

Nationalization.

Shorter Mallard Fillmore: Regurgitation of Limbaugh talking points...done. That leaves me 23-3/4 more hours in which to enjoy my Sunday!

Ummm...ok this one either needs more explanation or less 'nationalization' rubberstamping. I'm guessing that Tinsley is going for the idea that EVERYTHING is being nationalized. The problem is that the way he did it it more or less takes the joke so far that it might as well be a parody of his position.

And if he really wants to complain, ok, FCC complaints and moral guardians tend to censor television and music quite a bit, and those folks tend towards the conservative stripe. The government also has minimum standards for safety on objects, which is generally good (read Upton Sinclairs The Jungle..and don't do it after eating sausage).

Note to conservitives: If you think Obama is a "socialist" or a "liberal", you have no fucking clue what liberalism or socialism really is. Just saying.

They can't nationalize your brain, Tinshley, if they can't fucking find it.

I was going to say that some of those 23-3/4 leftover Sunday hours would be spent in church, but Tinz is probably as much a Christian as he is a cartoonist.

How is this not a parody?

Of course, we might ask the same thing of the "Keep Government Out Of Medicare" crowd.

Simple concepts for simple minds, eh Ducky?

Did a 2nd grader just finish reading 1984? And why is the nationalized dog wearing makeup?

"Nationalize my wife --- please!"

(p.s. ever notice the role of women in this "comic"?)

And then Big Gummint fluoridated Tinny's water, sapping his manly life essence!

It's a good thing he doesn't have access to any B52 bombers....

Back when I was in grade school - like 50 years ago, I was taught that it is rude and nasty to make fun of the mentally impaired.

Therefore, I will let this episode of the world according to Tinkly pass without further comment.

In other news, it would appear that Mr. Trudeau, he of the supposedly liberal bias, is also making fun of nationalization. On the same day. In a manner that is both subtle and, you know, actually funny.

This is too easy sometimes.

But Jazzbumpa, this blog would be a ghost town if we consistently abided by that rule.

(Firefox claims that "abided" is not a word. I wonder if it's having what Tinsley's having?)

Honestly, is Tipsy even TRYING to design and place his word balloons correctly anymore? There's a wad of empty space on the left, and the pointer is stabbing that dude in the heart.

WHAT women?

The only one with a name is Chantel (which is just one letter away from "chattel"), and she's written as a clueless tart that Mallard resents for being "out of his league".

Rootbeer - you noticed!

(Kinda funny how Tinshley seems to think a wife can be "nationalized". No doubt this led to a bit of merriment at home.)
