That damned reporting

What's Mallard raving about today?

President Obama, the Media.

This is going to be a week of comedy gold. Wake me when it's over.

I can't believe it too! When the headlines should read:
PRESIDENT'S FACE MELTING
or:
OBAMA IN JOKER SUIT? One Blue Sleeve! Poison Squirting Flower? GOP: "We Tried to Warn You"

Good lord, it gets tiresome trying to think of new ways to characterize Tinsley's creative bankruptcy. I hear the Inuit have over forty words for his hackery.

WV: "slyclue." I included a slyclue to my opinion of Tinsley in this comment. Can you find it?

Michael -- you mean this?

And why isn't the media (excuse me, I mean the MSM) reporting that an American Christian has proven that Obama is actually the Antichrist?

I'll tell you why: because... um, because of, um... HEY, LOOK OVER THERE! THEY'RE GONNA EUTHANIZE OLD PEOPLE, LIKE IN LOGAN'S RUN!!!

OBAMACARE IS PEOPLE!!!!

Approval of congressional Republicans is what now, 10%? Has anyone ever polled in the single digits before?

I sure hope Tins isn't talking trash about our President during wartime. Cause a few years ago the GOP had said that, y'know, that'd be treason...

Bruce should wait to get behind the wheel until his "approval number" falls below .08.

HA HA HA. It's funny because the Mainstream Media never criticizes Obama. Except when it does. Which is frequently. So...it's not funny at all really.

Sweet merciful crap, Bruce is ripping off old Bazooka Joe comics now.

Seriously, how does this pass as a professional comic strip? Newspapers could give over the space to teenage right-wingers with a Sharpie and get the same strip for a fraction of the money.

Don't know about any American politicians being in single digits, but one of the more astonishing polling results occurred during Chimpy's maladministration.

In what I believe was the last of these polls done during his term, numerous countries in Europe and the Middle East were polled regarding their attitudes toward the US, Bush, Gitmo, etc.

In a rather surprising result, one of the countries (IIRC, Turkey) gave him an approval rating of 3%. Given that the margin of error for the poll was +/- 4%, that meant that it was statistically possible that Bush's approval rating was actually a negative number.

I believe it will be a while before Obama can accomplish that singular feat.

WV: tauntala. A tarantula who makes fun of you.

Well, I'm going to give Tinkley a half-modicum of credit for at least attempting a joke. The structure is good: set-up, misdirection, punch line. Maybe he was sober - until he attempted the actual drawing.

It just happens the content is so mean-spirited and counter-factual that the humor potential is choked right out of it. (Maybe Tinkley chokes the duck instead of the chicken.)

Now here is a good one-liner from Merl Reagle, the virtuoso X-word constructor: "I'm not a bad duck; I'm just mallardjusted."

Yet another variant of Mallard Fillmore Joke #2 (collect them both): "The media's in love with Obama! Hur-hur! Hur-hur!"

By the way, does anyone know offhand how many times President Junior appeared in this strip between 2001 and 2008? I'd be inclined to guess it wasn't as many times as Obama has appeared in the past 7 months.

The Media--and I don't mean just Fox--referred to Dumbya as a "popular president" until his numbers went well below 50%. Obama's gettin' there, but I really doubt he'll hit Bush's near-record lows.

Right. There's no critical reporting of Obama anywhere outside of Fox News and Talk radio.

In other news, has any one seen ducky's glasses? He put them on the top of his head for just a minute, and now he can't find them.

OK, be honest. If Obama's poll numbers sunk to 1% or rose to 100%, would that change the way you think about him?

Whether you are for or against his policies ... is your position based on his popularity?

Nope. Mine isn't either.

And it was the same with W.
