That damned Average

What's Mallard raving about today?

The Media, President Obama and other assorted gripes.

Poll after poll shows that under no circumstances are teabaggers average. In reality they are overwhelmingly old, white, and Republican. Own that if you're proud of the movement.

Otherwise, lying about it just indicates how much you realize the movement's demographic is nothing like average.

By the way, nice timing bringing back the violent right-wing extremist stupidity.

Seriously? For WEEKS Tinsley's very explicitly been stating that he thinks all Muslims are terrorists, and now all of a sudden it's "Oh noes the ebil Librul Media is accusing us of Islamophobia!" Time for some well-deserved Godwinning: this is like a Nazi getting all bent out of shape over accusations of anti-Semitism. The sheer fucking gall is just stunning.

Wow, this is Batshit's, what, THIRD variant on "Scary Halloween costume? I'll just go as myself" anti-joke? The well's really run dry, hasn't it.

Yeah, like Batshit understands the phrase "hard working," outside of its use in propaganda. Also, "patriotic."

I don't think I need to go through the list of all the things teabaggers have said and done to prove Batshit so very, very wrong; I'll just point out that if Obama or anyone even remotely associated with him ever invoked the possibility of "second amendment solutions," Mallard would be screaming hysterically about it for years to come.

Yes, if you pick and choose various statements taken out of context said by random liberals over the past two years, you might get an impression that the nation has nothing good to say about the "average American." Of course, the list of horrible, horrible things that various conservative sources have said and done to insult liberals in the last three months alone would be a much more compelling argument of how to make a scary costume.

"I'm Bruce, and as a white male Christian Republican, the most oppressed person in the world! I'll go as myself, a whiny-ass titty baby."

WV: mingfill; not what Bruce is full of.

Sorry, Mallard, homeland security didn't mean YOU, or anyone like you. But there's a very real and a very militant element that keeps trying to convince you they're normal, and apparently it's worked.

I hear all the stuff about how profiling is okay because it catches the Muslim terrorists who are all Muslims or the scary people with guns in poor areas who will rob everyone ever, but try to profile a scared and violent male white supremacist movement growing in America and suddenly they're a myth and profiling is wrong.

Hey DaveyK - Can you link to Mallard via the Seattle Time, e.g. http://www.seattlepi.com/fun/comic.asp?feature_id=Mallard_Fillmore&feature_date=2010-10-31 ... so we don't have to reward Tinshley with a capta?

As for the content of today's "comic" - if there is evidence that the artist is "hard-working", it's not in his published work.

If you bookmark as follows, the captchadontchaknow wangdoodle will appear below the comic, and you can laugh at the "before seeing your comic, please answer the question below" line.

At least, it works for me...

So I decided to go hunting for that "clings to guns or religion" quote, because I'd never heard it before. Sure enough, the man who later went to such lengths to reassure the paranoid religious types that he's a Christian indeed said those words, during his campaign no less.

Forget practicing what he preaches. I just wish he'd keep preaching what he preached.

Amazing. The only panel not containing a falsehood is the last one, in which he is shown literally talking out of his @$$.

Jesus Christ. I just realized this is Batshit's version of Christine O'Donnell's incredibly ill-advised "I'm Not A Witch, I'm You" video.

NOW it's hilarious.
