That damned Bad Thing

What's Mallard raving about today?

President Obama, Socialism.

Mallard attempts to criticize President Obama for being a Socialist.

For beings with more intelligence than a mollusk, he actually manages to proves that crazy Right Wingers ar truly crazy because the don't actually understand what Socialism is, and substitute mindlessly repetition of accusations they get from their Masters on Fox for actual thought.

Who am I kidding? Even a mollusk is smarter than Mallard.

Hey, I have this great idea for a comic where Glenn Beck says "Hey everyone, I'm a deranged, schizophrenic fucktard!" Hmm? No, that's the whole idea. What more do ya want? Beck said it! See? I DREW him saying it! QED, bitches! That's a political point to me! Pwned!

(This, of course, leaves aside the fact that it would be SO FUCKING GREAT If there were anything even remotely socialist about our current President.)

I guess Nixon and Reagan must have been commies, since Obama's to the right of one and about even with the other.

In Soviet Union, past rewrites you.

Considering most of the ads are with keywords that are by default supposed to make you hate the other guy (socialist, communist, big government, Pelosi, etc.) I really don't credit the right with brains. If you call someone a socialist and need to make it a bad name, you better have more than a sickle and hammer and a gut reaction to back up why that particular person is socialist and why their particular views are dangerous and wrong, in detail with facts.

Circular "logic" is circular.

This strip would work better if the Bad Thing in question were inarguably a bad thing. Like, say, Bruce Tinshley thought-bubbling "people keep calling me an untreated alcoholic with a rap sheet who doesn't seek help and keeps sinking farther and farther into dipsomania ... as if that's a bad thing."

I’ve finally figured out why folks like Tinsley are so angry with the nation’s college English departments—all that nagging about developing a well-crafted, compelling argument instead of just going with proof by repeated assertion all the time can really wear a guy’s self-confidence down, you know? Maybe even drive him to drink.

How can you accuse Obama of bailing out investment bankers AND being a socialist?

GeoX, one of the GeoX boys. said...

Socialists are infamous for their nefarious desire to spend billions of dollars to prop up a capitalist system. It's just what they do.

Factinista said...

rewinn- That would be because Republicans are incapable of making honest arguments. For example:

Obama is a socialist/Nazi/Muslim/foreigner/all-of-the-above bent on destroying the country. Health care reform will kill granny. Taxes are the highest they've ever been.

Need I say more?

Factinista - You forgot "he can't get anything done."

The people who say that conveniently forget that they're part of the reason why he didn't get everything done, obstructionist a-holes.

Obama is such a cunning socialist, everything he does 24/7 is the exact opposite of being a socialist.

Apparently, Brucie was so exhausted from (what he deluded himself into believing was) his Best Week Ever that he couldn't even TRY to come up with something more creative than a recycled brainfart.

WV: derhead: The type of epithet one would expect to hear from a three-year-old. Or Bruce Tinsley. But that's sort of the same thing.

Folks, Bush bailed out the banks with a $700B blank check that went to CEO bonuses. Obama bailed out the automakers--you know, the bailout that actually worked, and is being paid back? Fox and the wrong wing endlessly pretending the opposite only makes it true in minds like Bruce's--don't order the Kool Aid with them.
