That damned Interview

What's Mallard raving about today?

Muslims

Stop watching Fox News and maybe your head will come out of your ass.

Gosh, whatever happened to innocent 'til proven guilty? Nope, in Tinsley the Racist's world, all brown people are automatically presumed to be filthy, barbaric savages unless they engage in constant, non-stop self-flagellation, and we all know nothing they could possibly do would EVER be enough. Whereas self-proclaimed Christians--as long as they're safely white--can murder foreigners or abortion doctors or whatever with impunity and how DARE you suggest that their actions should tar people like Tinsley, even though he and his ilk actually secretly or not-so-secretly approve of these things.

And seriously, "continued?" Tinsley really imagines that this racist calumny is good enough to deserve MULTIPLE DAYS of repeating over and over and over? Keerist. What a repellent little creature he is.

Yeah, like Mallard and Batshit aren't already well acquainted with the undersides of rocks.

"Continued?" Oh, this will be special. And no doubt followed by the SOP "I'm not a bigot!! LIBERALS are!!1" hooey.

Anyway, this idea that individuals are somehow required to "refudiate" the violence of groups they're only marginally connected to? Ludicrous. No one's ever demanded this white boy make a public display of renouncing the Klan--or teabaggers--or psycho fundies--to prove himself; I call out bigots because it's the right thing to do.

the right thing to do.
This is where Batshit, reading along, will see only gibberish. It makes no sense!

So, he died from liver failure in the last panel?

In any case, without even using google I can name Imam Feisel Abdul Rauf. You might remember him vaguely - he was in the news for something or other. This is just Tinsley being flat-out lazy and out of ideas, the 'there're no moderate Muslims' meme wore out for everyone but the fever-brained years ago.

Day two of Newsday replacing a racist Fillmore with a backup strip (about that damned obesity, and the fact that the damned media are always reporting about it).

Keep it up, Tinz, and Newsday will just replace you permanently. Believe me, you're not there on your merits.

Anyway, back to today's strip...

Bruce, do you work with a lot of Muslims out there in Indiana? Because here in NYC, I do. And they are good and bad people, mostly good, in about the same ratio as everybody else.

Yes, there are some Muslims, bordering on extremists, who hate all non-Muslims.

Likewise, there are some non-Muslims, bordering on extremists, who hate all Muslims.

Pot, meet kettle.

The lying tumor on a duck's backside can't be arsed to put the beer down and find that many Muslims deplore the violence and call it out. They do it here, and they do it in their own countries, which don't always speak English or ever get on Fox News.

To paraphrase NickE, this is the pot calling the refrigerator black.

Wow! This is the first Mallard Fillmore strip in which actions have happened since 1998!

Assuming that bloviating doesn't count, because that happens in most of them.

(P.S. go fuck yourself, you ignorant, hate-filled shitbag.)

Well, actually, in fairness (*gag*) to The Tinsh, it is true that no Muslim organizations have "refudiated" violent extremists.

The fact that refudiating is not a thing a person or organization can actually do is neither here nor there.

But seriously, is the existence of Doonesbury seriously such a dreadful burden on teabaggistani-Americans that crap like this is necessary reparation?

That's right, Mallard. Just keep lying there. Now pick up the rock, yes, just like that, and lift it up over your head. Hold still. On the count of three, I want you to let go.

OneTWOTHREE.

Oh, and on behalf of white people, I would like to officially repudiate Bruce Tinshley. How does one go about this, exactly? By appearing on Fox News?

D Johnston said...

I could run through a list of Muslim leaders and groups who have repudiated terrorism (starting with the Death Mosque Imam himself) but that's been done many times before to no effect. Instead, I'll just post this link and wait for Tinsley to formally distance himself from all his violent co-religionists.

This is outrageous. It's just the sort of ignorant claptrap that made me quit the GOP. There are plenty of moderate Muslim groups who have spoken out against violence. The fact that our news media does not choose to mention this does not make it false. It wasn't any Muslim leaders who said 9/11 was "good" for their interests. The Houston Chronicle has the 1st Amendment Right to print this, and any other racist garbage they wish. But do they REALLY think it's funny to tell a lie about the millions of Muslims who condemn violent extremists?

Ask them:
help@chron.com — Report a problem with the Web site or ask a question about chron.com.
permissions@chron.com — Get permission to publish content from chron.com or the newspaper.
news@chron.com — Send a news tip or idea for a story to the Chronicle.
readerrep@chron.com — Send comments about news content to Houston Chronicle reader representative Jim Newkirk.

This is factually incorrect, and hypocritical because Tinhead sees no need for teapartiers to repudiate their racist members...

But, somehow, what stands out the most for me is that his hat vanishes in the last panel. Art this simplistic, and he can't even get it right.

Christians whine constantly about every minor deviation from their beliefs. Tinsley is being just as much of a hyprocrite as always.

This is going to be a terrible week: By Saturday, Tinsley will be saying, "everyone in the Mediterranean should be nuked into a smoking pile of shit." Assuming this ends on Tuesday, it will conclude with Tinsley demanding that we wipe out everything outside of the center of the Deep South.

Mallard is getting thinner, and I assume the same is true of Tinsley; too bad, because I want them to have heart attacks. Paraphrasing Richard Pryor, because I am not a plagiarist, I enjoy the thought of sharp crippling pain in their chest telling them about all the ribs they refused to eat.

We can make fun of this shit, but really, it's quite sickening that little shits like Tinsley feel no compunctions about spreading hatred like this and newspapers feel no compunction about enabling them. Sure, Tinsley himself is ultimately insignificant in and of himself, but what kind of fucked-up society allows his ilk to have a semi-legitimized public voice? What kind of diseased mind thinks this is legitimate public discourse?

This is NOT the way a country on the upswing acts.

As somebody from Tennessee, I apologize for Bob Corker. Our beloved senator was the one who added the bit saying that interest rates couldn't be capped in legislation regulating check cashing places.

And I sincerely apologize for the town of South Fulton and their fire department.

I'm sorry that our chief of police was so stupid that he allowed the First 48 to air the episode on the Lester Street murders before the case even went to trial.

No, no, I didn't say it right.

I refudiate the actions of some who may have offended you, because you are a whiny baby. You betcha. Y'all.

I'm a white woman, my hair is kinda brown, and I wear glasses. That should work for everything.
