Hi, everyone. I'm Mallard Fillmore, and I don't understand the humor foundation of the situational comedy format. Also, I clearly don't watch Modern Family. And why would I? It might make me question my predeterminations. Or make me think, even just a little. Can't have that.
Yes, Mallard, in a comedy, the person with the least amount of power overall tends to win. That's what makes it funny. (Well, "funny.") When someone who already has more power over someone else abuses that power, that's more sad than anything. But I guess he wouldn't mind sitting back and enjoying watch a white male ruin the lives of people who are disadvantaged in the first place.
