That damned Point

What's Mallard raving about today?

President Obama

I know this will come as a shock to readers of this blog, but Mallard, it turns out, was completely wrong in predicting that outrage over the Right Wing Lie of the Day would last long enough for him to be relevant by the time it appeared in his strip.

"It just won't go away! It's like some intoxicated hack is flogging a dead horse on a massively and woefully time-lagged, witless D-grade comic strip while everybody else in the universe has moved on, including the reactionary liars who tried to make political hay of this misquote in the first place! This would also explain my chin!"

You know what really didn't go away, Bruce?

July 4, 2012.

I'm bracing myself for a week of this shit.

A week, hell, this looks like the horse Brews will be riding through the election.

The (relatively) funny thing is, unlike Willard's campaign, he initially acknowledged the context surrounding the sound bite. But I guess otherwise he really has nothing.

"Yuh cain't get preggant fum rape!" Not at all problematic. Just a guy with an opinion.

Saying you didn't build the roads and bridges, or provide the clean water and inspected materials, or hire the police and firemen who make it safe to conduct business…

Jeezus. Brucie has officially moved from beating a dead horse to giving it CPR and zapping it with a defibrillator.

"The voters we're polling"? You mean the ones in your lurid, Fox-addled imagination, Bruce?

Maybe you should try reviving something that really has a chance of becoming a "thing" again. Like "the Macarena".

In the meantime every day that the Republicans spend talking about rape is.....HAHAHAHAHA....sorry, couldn't finish this post.

He's wearing a black suit with a blue sleeve. On second thought, it appears it is someone else holding the phone to his ear! WTF, Bruchie, WTF?

"I'm going to clone this dead horse, carefully raise the clone to adult hood, and then beat the clone to death with the spine of the original. Tale THAT, liberals!"

This morning, I read a profile on Ryan in TIME, and the writer said he was articulate. That's racism! Or at least it is if Biden says it.

Heh heh. Biden's such a gaffer. Anything he says can be seen as a gaffe if enough time is spent carefully parsing it in ways that it's patently unfair to do to a conservative.

Obama's comment still lives on in Wingnutialand, and always will, I think. I was looking at redstate, or freeper, or something, and some of the commenters were saying Akins shouldn't have to withdraw over his legit rape statement, because Obama didn't resign or withdraw over "you didn't build that".

They are strange people.

Honest to god, I was reading the comments before I realized that daveyK hadn't updated the site to today's MF.

I'd like to remind everyone that the inane redundancy found in some government programs would NEVER fly in the private sector!
