That damned Vacation

What's Mallard raving about today?

Something timely, no doubt.

Teachers know who will help them and who will destroy them given the chance, Bruce. But hey, you stay classy.

Need I even bother pointing out all the recent "slobbering spectacles" involving the Palins, Joe Arapio, George Zimmerman, Chick-fil-A, and the usual bag of wrong-wing media nutjobs?

But if tax-exempt, non-political churches want to become wholly-owned subsidiaries of the Republican Party, that's totally cool, right dipshit?

PS: Fuck you, Brews.

Brad Hicks wrote an interesting five-part look at how the church leaders in the late 50s were so scared of the commies that they basically flipped Christianity from Socialist Jesus to Gospel of Success because they figured only the GOP could stand up to the Russkies. "Christians in the Hands of an Angry God."

Whoops, forgot to snark.

Good thing for the Right's purity of soul that tax-exempt political orgs only exist on the left, isn't it?

(Holy Hoover, tog's name is part of my WV!)

(Only they forgot to capitalize it, and I did too. Sorry, Tog!)

EEEEEEEEEEVIL TEEEEEEEEECHURS

Meanwhile, turns out that comedy show last week where the perfect-coiffed clown kept stepping on rake after rake was actually Romney demonstrating his foreign diplomacy skills. Who knew?

Oh, and that drunken, disheveled guy in the corner of the bar, surrounded by napkins with failed scribbles of ducks? Turns out that's the entire Mallard Fillmore Fan Club.

Nations that attack education are cutting their own throat.

My best guess is that this is the article Mallard referenced in his "footnote". I can understand why he latched onto it, slanted as it is toward portraying Republican teachers as helpless, bullied victims of the mean ol' librul Obama-lovers.

Does he have the slightest idea how citations actually work?*

There's no conceivable way that 'HoppingtonPox', whatever THAT is, corroborates the claim "[what] appeared to be an Obama rally was actually the [...] Teachers' Union Convention'. Because that is not a statement of fact.

* No.

Of course, the dutifully party-line Tinsh's attitudes towards education illustrate rather nicely just why it's pretty baffling that any teacher would want to support Republicans.

It's baffling to me that a political party that has come out whole-cloth against teachers, firefighters, and policemen is a serious player in national politics.

WV: randight. No, really.
