By the way, the answer to that question, Mallard...not as clear cut as you might hope, since most people are not judging whether they are better off the way you and your Fox-viewing cohort do (based exclusively on whether Fox tells you to support the party in the Oval Office).
According to a CNN/ORC International poll...37% of registered voters say compared to four years ago, their financial situation is now better, with 44% saying they're now financially worse off, and nearly one in five saying that their situation is the same.And before Mallard has time to say this just proves his point...
As for who gets the blame for the current state of the economy, fingers are still being pointed at the former president.
"Since President Barack Obama's first year in office, a majority of Americans have said that former President Bush's policies were more responsible for current economic problems than Obama's policies were. That figure is at 57% today, with 35% saying the current president and Democrats are mostly to blame for economic problems," adds [Holland]CNN Polling Director Keating Holland].But, you know, that includes the 47% of Americans for whom, according to Mitt Romney the President's job "is not to worry about those people. I'll never convince them they should take personal responsibility and care for their lives."

I'm better off now than I was four years ago...and I'd be even better off if the so-called "job creators" would create some damn jobs! They got their tax cuts! Where are all the jobs we were told they would create?

And it's now been a week since Mallard/Brucie forgot September 11 (after exhorting the rest of us to "never forget") and we have yet to see his defensive and overcompensatory belated bit of lip service to the date. (When it does finally appear, my guess is it will be something along the lines of, "Well, every day should be a remembrance of September 11. Why aren't you remembering it today, huh?!")
"Are you better off than you were four years ago?" is a question that is asked by stupid people and incompetent reporters.
Let me make an analogy:
Suppose your house is on fire and the firefighters race to the scene. They set up their hoses and start spraying water on the blaze as quickly as possible. After the fire is put out, the courageous news reporter on the scene asks the chief firefighter, "is the house in better shape than when you got here?"

The right question is "Are you better off with Obama as president than you would be if McCain (or R-Money) were President?"
