That damned Jargon

What's Mallard raving about today?

Geeksquad

Like his political cartoons, this story has only one facet to it, and not a very interesting facet at that, but he's going to harp on it for day and days and days.

Let me guess: Tinsley is one of those who thinks that his PC came with a handy cup holder.

And he wonders where the ANY key is.

Um... either this strip takes place right after panel 2 of yesterday's strip or Mallard suffered a blackout which caused him to forget the 6 days which followed panel 2 of yesterday's strip.

I'm inclined to go with "blackout".

Of course, there's also the more boring real-world explanation: Bruce Tinsley doesn't know how to keep his narrative elements straight.

What is so sad as a decent comic premise, ruined by inept execution?

Well, lots of things. Hungry babies, sad-eyed kittens, etc.

But they at least are blameless in their sorrow. Bruce Tinshley has only himself to blame for taking a basic modern premise ("tech support suxxes!") and ruin it with too many words broken up only by pointless pictures of a duck.

On some higher plane, Thalis, Muse of Comedy, is weeping.

In the badly drawn corners of Duckburg they say
That Mallard's head grew seven sizes that day
