What's Mallard raving about today?

Mallard's "pox on both your houses" would ring truer if, once in the last 4 years, he had demonstrated and shades of moderation. But, of course, Mallard is holding his nose because he lacks a candidate to the ideological right of the current Republican Party.

I'm confused, how is it possible to injure yourself by holding your nose while voting? Being drunk while doing it doesn't count.
The Duck may actually be relieved about the results. Otherwise he would be out of material for new strips, and out of a job. It is safe to predict four more year of his repeating the same old junk.
I'm trying to think of even one strip he's done in the past 2 years that was even mildly anti-Romney. The only only I can think of is when he picked Ryan, and MF went "WhaaaaaAAAAAAAA?!" twice. Then went back to hating Obama.
Mallard knows his audience is likely to injure themselves by trying to do two things at once. Any two things.
Accepting the idiot premise of this "comic", it would have been funnier if published ON ELECTION DAY.
The day after? it's just not funny. TIMING COUNTS IN COMEDY!
