That damned Marketplace of Ideas

What's Mallard raving about today?

Barack Obama, The Media.

That Mallard Fillmore, an empty-headed Republican talking points echo chamber, considers himself part of a marketplace of ideas is, perhaps, the single funniest thing ever to appear in Mallard Fillmore.

Comically inflated sense of self-importance? You betcha! I'd advise Tinsley not to break his arm from patting himself on the back to hard, but I actually kind of want him to do that so we can get a respite, however, brief, from this nonsense.

This? From a worshipper of an Administration that played favorites with the media, and shut out those that asked too many tough questions?

The hypocrisy on display here is simply breathtaking in scope.

Following up what Raynfala wrote:

In view of the last eight years, perhaps mimicking this sort of reprehensible behavior is what MF and his fellow Neo-con echo-machines mean when they suggest that Obama should "act presidential".

Ooo! Look at the scary duck! Obama must be terrified! He'll uh... beat dead horses? And ummm.... use four ellipses!

That'll show the libruls.

Remember, the media is only fair and balanced when tilting heavily to the right.

And, the propaganda machine of the Right loves to point out their own flaws, but assign them to the Left.

It's funny because it's self satirizing. Mallard is paranoid because he's afraid that Obama will follow Bush's "Any brand, so long as it's one of ours" approach to town hall and press conference questions... combined with his irrational fear of the left wing media bias running him over. It's really a case of self projection... of course, Obama will do it because that's what the Republicans would still be doing if they had won.

I LOL'd at the mental image of Obama tossing Mallard out of an airplane. Probably not what Tinsley was going for.

Just to confirm for those of us keeping score at home:

Opposition/critical press during Republican administration = "Far left liberal media"

Opposition/critical press during Democratic administration = "Marketplace of ideas"

Got it.

Oh, and by the way, somebody should tell Mr. Obama to get himself to an oncologist, pronto! That ghastly growth protruding from his chin CAN'T be good!

Anonymous said...

That's not a growth! Tinsley is a making fun of that long pointy chin Obama has! You know, that Leno-like jawline that everyone makes fun of! Ha ha! What a keen observer he is!

I like how Obama gets more and more cross-eyed and stoner-eyed as time goes on.

Yeah, Ducky. The poor, put-up, repressed conservatives. When, or when, will THEY have a chance to dominate the government and the media? Oh when?
