That damned recycling

What's Mallard raving about today?

Recycling, President Clinton, Barack Obama.

After 8 years of Nixon retreads, leading to Nixon-like results (only with less competence), I have no complaints as long as the Bush Administration gets the hell out of office.

The Clinton years were years of misery and strife, as I recall.

I'm more worried about his devotion to working with people he disagrees with, like Rick Warren. Ugh.

The Clintons have moved the Democratic party toward the right, but hey, is he supposed to use people from the Carter administration?

Maybe he wants you know experienced people so he doesn't fuck up royally in the first year.

And if this was true, he'd be dumping Michelle and marrying Hillary.

Though I wouldn't mind Al Gore instead of Biden. A wooden veep is better than a walking gaffe on a bad day.

I'm not saying Biden's a bad guy, or anything, I'm just saying, let's do this right or not at all.

Looks like Mallard's holiday well-wishing was short-lived. Back to character assassination, innuendo, smug misanthropy, and general hatred to everything. Way to reflect "God is love," Tinshley.

A return to eight years of prosperity, fiscal responsibility and avoiding needless endless wars? God in Heaven, take me now!!!!!!!!!

Again the joke is weakened by poor editing; it has twice as many words as it needs.

The joke is unfair ... after attacking Obama as "inexperienced" now Tinkley attacks him for picking people WITH experience... but at least it's a recognizable joke. Since our country NEEDS a Loyal Opposition (...we may question whether the GOP is loyal to America or to money, but that's another debate...), but it needs a COMPETENT opposition, in the spirit of mutual helpfulness, let's take TWO MINUTES to edit.

Ok? Same drawing, same two word balloons:

"... to show I'm a "Green" President, I'm recycling ..."

(pause)

"...the Clinton Administration...."

In your dreams...amusing that you do not have a clue of what you will endure the next four years.

So, Anonymous Coward, tell us: what WILL we endure the next 8 years of Obama's presidency?

If it's only as "bad" as the Clinton years of peace, prosperity and consensual sex, it'll be a great improvement over Bush's eight years.

to be fair, nixon was much more environmentally minded than bush...but so is exxon

also i like how many anons we have here lately assuming they know everything about politics
i'll admit i don't know everything but at least i'm trying to be part of the solution rather than the problem...and at least i use my name when i post

For the love of...
Ducky, just do it. Put the line down the middle of the gapping white maw between Obama's lips, and give him the Liberal Buck Teeth. You know you want to, we know you want to, everyone knows you want to. It's not like you could do anything else to make that... thing, look anything less like Obama.

You are also a dreamer. So it was George Bush who brought about 9/11 not "Slick Willie", having fun with Monica instead of closing our borders and tracking the terrorists? You honestly believe with Obama there will be prosperity? For whom, the losers in this country?

It was, I assume consensual sex but did he have to lie to the American people and a grand jury about it?

Get your head out of your ass...sorry you ARE a liberal!

Since Anonymous Coward is still afraid to answer the question, I guess we'll just have to laugh and move on.

Well, the "I assume" part comes off as a bit scare quote-y, but according to the Starr Report, Monica "initiated" contact by flashing her thong to President Clinton, and in fact wanted to make him achieve climax (it took some coaxing by her to get this to happen, and I was in AP Political Science as this whole thing was going down *ahem*, so I remember it fairly well). As for the "did he have to lie about it" part, I suppose he didn't necessarily have to, but I guess he figured that it was nobody's business what he did behind closed doors. Plus, he knew that his political opponents were going to try to impale him for whatever they could find/imagine/make up out of whole cloth anyway, so I guess he figured he had little to lose by denying it.

Besides, his wife was there with him as he said that. You never admit to having an affair when your partner is right there.

Also, Bush did kind of respond to the 8/6/2008 PDB by saying "all right, you've covered your asses." So I think we can argue negligence at the very least. I'm not sure whether Clinton ever received any such briefing during his tenure, but there's only so much you can legally/morally do when someone you perceive to be an imminent threat hasn't made his move yet.

Emphasis added because it was actually 8/6/2001; if I hadn't pointed that out, Tinonymous almost certainly would've, in the same way a shark points out blood in the water.

What he could legally/morally do, he did, and that darn pesky Liberal Media said he was wagging the dog. (The same liberal media that made a movie about a Democratic President faking a war with Albania out of a book claiming the first Gulf War took place on a Hollywood set.)

Anonymous, had the terrorist attacks come in say, the winter or perhaps even spring of 2001 passing the buck to Clinton would be valid. But eight months after Bush was sworn in, and almost a full year after he was elected?

And wasn't it Condoleeza Rice of the Bush (not Clinton) White House who, testifying before Congress, admitted to having dockets as early as February 2001 on Bin Laden's resolve to attack on U.S. soil? That would suggest seven months of do-nothingness on the part of the Bush Administration.

I suppose the Great Robot Wars of 2528 (you know they're coming! ;) ) will somehow be the fault of SLICK WILLIE and his blowjob-gettin' ways?
