I'll give the devil his due here: this may be the first time I've seen a Mallard Fillmore that's good. It actually made me laugh (non-derisively) and it was refreshingly devoid of hate, willful ignorance, and city-dwelling strawmen. If Tinsley keeps this up, he'll surpass Family Circus and be well on his way to Garfield levels!
Jazzbumpa: I hate defending Tinsley again, but the joke just worked for me. The tension comes from wondering why he looks so sloppy, and the punchline is the dialog (which is uncharacteristically efficient). I think it's a successful example of breaking the fourth wall, and I thought the idea was creative.
This one made me laugh. Mostly because Tinsley's drawing sucks so much I wouldn't have known this was done with his left hand if he hadn't pointed it out.
Sorry, Factinista, but if I praise Mallard Fillmore one more time, I might vomit. I'm as surprised about this as you are. Maybe I should read today's Marmaduke to make sure I'm still sane; if I laugh, I'll check myself in somewhere.

Who else thinks he's just using the "drawing with the left hand" explanation as an excuse for something else?

Factinista: You owe me a new keyboard.
Speaking of cartoonists' left and right hands, where are the hands of the character in today's strip. HOW is he holding the paper?
Word verification: pascal: name of 1) 17th century French mathematician; 2) a programming language.
When hate makes you masturbate, you really ought to see someone. And forget my gawd awful rhyme.
And the stimulus hate continues. Just another opportunist pessimist who thinks it's good to either be right and doomed or wrong and successful.
I didn't know Tinkley did self-portrait!

I agree with you about the non-hate part. But where is the laugh? All I see is another Tinkley WTF. What am I missing?

Michael: Maybe I'm just a little slow on the uptake, but why exactly?

Update: Marmaduke is still crappy.
Well, different strokes I guess - even if some are with the left hand.
Sometimes Blallard is just to subtle for me.
Tinsley hates all guys, even, southpaws!
