That damned Candidate

What's Mallard raving about today?

President Obama

It doesn't happen often, but in this case, I happen to agree.

That said, I'll still take this President Obama over the destructive twit who preceded him.

Yeah, but we're disappointed with Obama because he's constantly making concessions to crazy wingnuts and not working to rebuild the civil liberties that the last guy destroyed. Whereas TINSLEY is under the impression that people don't like him because OMG SOCIALISM, as though he were somehow governing to the LEFT of where he campaigned.

So basically, he's as full of shit as always.

Poor little Batshit. Remember when Junior Bush was the Second Coming of Ronald Reagan? He was, after a fashion...but not the fashion you expected.

As I look across the sea of thugs, fools, dirtballs and goobers that bear the Teabagger stamp of approval (Ooooh, for shame! I'm demonizing!!), I can only hope you never get what you wish for ever again.

For the most part, the actions of President Obama have been pretty consistent with the promises of Candidate Obama. It is likely that many voters projected their own desires onto him in ways that he never condoned, but did little to condemn, either.

But come on. The schadenfreudian reports of "buyer's remorse" from the opposition started as soon as he won a couple primaries, and probably won't let up even when he's re-elected to a second term.

As for the strip itself, it's a total waste of space. Obama celebrates good news with a terrorist fist bump, not a Jesus Christ pose.

Considering what has been put on the table under this president, I'm not exactly disappointed with him. Every major reform this country has needed for the past decade has popped up for at least discussion in the past year and a half.

Where I am disappointed however is in concessions made by his colleagues in congress. I however have no ability to control anything other than my state and regional representation, so there's not much there I can do with voting.

In other other news, the country at large continues not to give a shit about Walter Williams.

Is Mallard actually calling for a return to the populist Obama?

Cool - so am I?

What an utterly confounding sentence structure. Also, "forgot to tell a joke", etc.

Why do we have to "take" this creep over the last dim-witted piece of crap? Can't this guy show us he's really different from Bush and Cheney? Maybe he could register some slight emotion at the "execution-style" slaying of Furkan Dogan, a 19 year old American, at the hands of the IDF, for example. Not that I'd expect the POTUS to protect American citizens from murder, if it might harm his ability to fund raise, but still...

So, anny, it's your argument that we should elect a teabagger president instead? Or what?

God, no, a teabagger is surely worse. But why settle for having the constitution barbecued as opposed to roasted? They are both unacceptable options. we have to stop excusing crimes against decency because "the other guy" is incrementally worse.

isn't it ironic - we are chastising Obama for continuing right wing policies - the right is demonizing him at the same time for... well, they never did make much sense. You'd think they'd applaud much of what he is doing.

Like it or not, Obama v Teabagger is probably the choice we face next election. Golly, what to do?

If Progressives don't like Obama, they need to start working to groom candidates to fill the seat, rather than projecting what they want onto already-established candidates--as Rootbeer noted, although he didn't specify Progressives.

...And rather than playing the take-my-ball-and-go-home game--as Obama himself called them out over (resulting in much seething butthurt how-DARE-you Internet outrage and, unsurprisingly, assorted threats to take balls and go home).

Wait! I know this! It's the one in the middle that's different, right? Final answer: middle one.

We haven't seen Anonymelonfucker in quite a while, but Anonyconcerntroll is back. But what's funny is the gist of what they both have to say is the same: Go ahead and let the Rethugs win.

As for the Tinsh, he gave up trying to be funny ages ago, and gave up having a point sometime after that. No he appears to have given up on striving to be coherent.

Nothing to do with anything, but it's vaguely interesting to note that today's comic link is dated September 31. How did Slylock Fox know that the link was a fake?
