That damned Costume

What's Mallard raving about today?

Democrats, Political Correctness.

What the hell has this got to do with Political Correctness.

Still, you have to admit this was equally funny in 2006 and 2008, when Mallard went as Incumbent Republicans.

Batshit's Workday:
(1) Assemble buzzwords at random;
(2) Scrawl.
(3) Time to hit the pub!

...And for "pub," substitute "fridge," followed by "couch." Because "pub" sounds all Europeany (ewwwwwwwwww) and there are people socializing there (EWWWWWWWWWWWWWW SOCIALISM).

WV: regurga. You've got to be kidding me.

He put as much thought into that costume as he does into his cartoons. If it were more than just a freaking sign, it might have had a chance of being funny.

"I was forced to wear a politically correct costume, so instead I threw a tissy-fit and went overboard by being as obnoxious as possible in a way that nobody can really call me on, like any good right-wing jerk."

This political correctness has been brought to you by Sarah "don't-dare-use-the-R-word" Palin. Way to lead....

Since Tin's idea of political correctness is basically that he isn't allowed to use the N-word or pull his eyes back with his fingers while making buck teeth and chanting "Ching chong ling long," I'm just glad I'm not having to look at whatever his first idea for a Hallowe'en costume may have been.

Hey, what a coincidence! I was going to dress as a "Republican with something still resembling a soul," but I couldn't remember what that looked like. Same with "Bruce Tinshley's integrity." Maybe I'll just dress as something that really scares him, like a liquor store with a CLOSED sign in the window.

Yes, because all these people who normally vote (D), even the moderate ones, are suddenly going to swing faaar right and support the tea party candidates as the Republican party ditches all its moderates.

This is going to be the most anti-climatic election ever. Republicans aren't going to win a majority, and Democrats can't win a supermajority, so we're looking at another two years of nothing getting done.

Assemble buzzwords at random

The classic example of this, of course, is recycled dolphins. Or, at least, it was until they got partly defictionalized.

WV: dolesser. Res ipsa loquitur.

Costumes are supposed to be frightening.

Mallard is afraid that incumbent Democrats may be an endangered species.

Well, ok.
