That damned Dinosaur

What's Mallard raving about today?

Oil, Dinosaurs.

Once again, I would like to remind everyone that someone got paid for this.

"Once again, I would like to remind everyone that someone got paid for this."

I would add that someone has been paid REPEATEDLY to rehash this very same strip, over and over since Mallard Fillmore first began staining our consciousnesses.

But, golly, Republicans! I thought the Wharon Terra was going to make gas super-cheap! "To the victor goes the oils" and all that?

Side note to teabaggers: General Electric. Five billion in profits last year. Taxes paid: zero. Currently demanding worker concessions because five billion apparently isn't enough.

...And Tinsley's whining about light bulbs?

Whose side are YOU on, again?

Technically, oil comes from plants, not animal matter. Maybe there's a little animal matter mixed in there, but nearly all meat gets metabolized (eaten). You just don't get piles of downed dinosaurs like you do of plants.

Other than that, this is a typical Mallard Sunday strip: one panel, with no creativity or clever writing and comparing unfavorably to Jeffy's annual outings in The Family Circus.

And some day, this comic strip will make decent compost.

Liberals, the Early Years:

Liberal: Cheap-Shiny-Metal-sley Waterfowl-Drawer, tell again, why we pay you in hides and dried food for drawing same exact hunting scene over and over every time?

Right-Thinking Gondwanican: Because, stupid, if not draw exact same hunting scene every time, sky-god not give us game! It tradition! Stupid liberal!

Early Silent Majority: *LAUGHTER*

Rewinn, technically the oil comes from algae, mostly, which have elements in common with plants more than animals but aren't plants.

That said, while some animal parts are in oil, as you said, and sloppy cartoonists of which Tinsley is unfortunately one of thousands might pounce on that, the problem is that they draw land-based dinosaurs, and the oil and coal mostly formed before there were dinosaurs, and the oil formed in the seas.

Both Tinsley and the dinosaur have a brain the size of a walnut, but the dinosaur does not have the excuse of having a drinking problem, so I blame him.

Elsewhere in pre history:

Caveman Ug: "Og what are you doing?"

Caveman Og: "I am writing about my life and what me no like"

Caveman Ug: "But me no see anything but scribble, me no understand"

Caveman Og: "Me know, But someday long time from now my decendant will get paid for doing this"

Meh, at least we didn't get a big eyeful of dinosaur crotch.

Is there anything sadder than the one panel nothingness of a Mallard Fillmore Sunday "comic"?

ZOMG, the price of gas, amirite?

If we had Republicans in office, it would be so much cheaper and I'd be able to fill my hummer tank on my minimum wage job!

On the evidence, @Marion put more time researching his response (...even if it was a moment recalling his coursework...) than Tinshley put into researching this "comic".

Hey can you draw a duck? King Features may need backup.

rewinn, Marion is overqualified. The administrators of Wingnut Welfare don't want someone who will go out and do research. They want someone who will stay in and regurgitate talking points on cue.
