What's Mallard raving about today?

Dick Morris

Days after chastising elitists who are so out of touch that they don't shop at Walmart, we find Mallard Fillmore complaining about Dick Morris' publication schedule.

Yeah, Dick, take publishing advice from a cartoon character who has but one book published in the same time period where even the eminently mediocre Mother Goose & Grimm has cranked out a dozen.

Pretty rich, coming from a guy who (somehow) gets published every freakin' day.

This still in: Tinsley can't think of anything newer or fresher than the "news that didn't happen today" gag that had already dried out and developed a crusty rind before he found its lifeless husk on the sidewalk and adopted it as his own.

You know how drunks put in extra sounds? I think that's what the four-dot ellipses that litter his balloons really are: they're Morse-code Hs, turning terminal S sounds to SH and otherwise making random gasping noises in places where regular grownups might put punctuation.

Dick Morris probably doesn't hyphenate "Clinton administration", knows the difference between "adviser" and "advisor", and does not indiscriminately add extra dots to capital I's and ellipses.

I wonder who else hasn't published a book in the last three days.

Since we got all meta with the duck losing and regaining his job, when will we get a series of strips about the duck getting crotch cancer from repeated exposure to radiation from that thing.

Stop mocking Tinshley's ellipses, people. He's doing his best*. Do you have any idea how hard it is to write exactly three dots when you've got the DTs?

* Admittedly grading on a curve.

WV: execedig. "No, offinsher, I'm shoor I wazzent execedig the shpeed liminit."

One of the (many) reasons today's punchline fails is that even Mallard realizes he has to explain who Dick Morris is and why anyone should care.

Besides, isn't Toe-sucker a fellow Wingnut Welfare recipient?

Eleven years on, and even with the Democratic Party back in, all he can do is attack the Clinton administration. Woah, way to keep current there, Tinsley! And have you heard about that Jimmy Carter being attacked by a rabbit? And don't you think that Martin Van Buren wears his muttonchops a little long? Yeesh!

Also, I know Wikipedia isn't the most reliable of sources, but they say of Dick Morris: 'His latest book is Catastrophe, which was released in June 2009.' So yeah, Mallard, way to go. That's almost yesterday! If it was July 1st 2009. Which it's not.

So, nothing else going on in the world, eh? Nothing at all? Been a slow news month, has it?
