That damned Santorum

What's Mallard raving about today?

Rick Santorum

I'm not sure name recognition is Santorum's problem, at least not in the traditional sense of the phrase.

In other Santorum news, congratulations on winning in Iowa!

But who will help Batshit with his chronic bad-timing problem? And his newly-developing chronic hacking copypasta?

You're being too kind DaveyK. Name recogintion is obvioulsy not the issue here. The "Google problem" has existed for a while, and Bruce wants to comment on it but can't so he just switches it around to make a dumb joke.

I wonder if Google has manipulated something or if Santorum supporters have managed to do some googlebombing themselves to win back some ground in the Santorum search results. Following DaveyK's link (searching "Santorum" on Google) has changed. Too me, this is a fasciniating twist on the "free marketplace of ideas" in cyberspace. (Look out for the hilarious foxnews story in the current google results. I'm sorry, but the actions of Dan Savage and his readers in this are only mirroring the "putrid" nature of Santorum's sickening dehumanization of homosexuals.)

Goofus continues to stare so fixedly at that crystal ball, neighbors suspect he has been dead for at least three days.

Gallant decides he'll improve his image by seeing if he can re-associate his name to remind people of snot instead.

Aww, c'mon Brews, you recognize santorum: It's what your nether parts are covered in once you've fulfilled your final condition for picking up your wingnut welfare check.

There's also the Tinsley Problem (one in a series that defies enumeration) of drawing Rick Santorum to look like Andre Gregory.

Thhis strip could be My Dinner With Andre (if by dinne was staring at a marble for two weeks while Andree politely waited to tell his fascinating tales).

Santorum would be an awesome presidential candidate ... for his opponent.

The man really is both sick and stupid, starting with his suggestion that it's o.k. to criminalize birth control. (Not merely abortion, but the pill as well.)

Oh yeah. That's "small government!"

Or he could change his first name to Google!

Hm, I don't know. If you look at it in light of his "Google problem," I think this might actually be the most intentionally funny Mallard strip in a long time. There have been others that were unintentionally funny, but that's another issue.

rewinn: That is small government! What's "small enough to drown in the bathtub" when you compare it to "small enough to snoop in a womb"?

"small enough to snoop in the womb" FTW!
