That damned popcorn

What's Mallard raving about today?

Enormous tins of popcorn.

The use of the phrase "not only is the popcorn delicious" makes this the single most confusing panel in this holiday food series. It's possible this phrase is meant to be sarcastic. It's more likely Mallard is simply insane.

Hopefully there's only one more day of this left...

Mallard had a cameo on Colbert Report tonight. Awesome.

Not only that, but the sentence itself makes no sense whatsoever. He says " not only is the popcorn delicious," setting you up for a second clause that would, you know, build on the first one. But then he says "but the gift says 'i'll pay way too much for anything wrapped in a festive holiday tin,'" which is something that totally doesn't follow the first part of the sentence, either in content OR tone.

Maybe "The popcorn is delicious, BUT," or "Not only is the popcorn terrible, but the gift makes you look cheap," or something. Even then, it doesn't come remotely close to being funny or visually interesting in any way. But at least the sentence might not make you do a double take and ask "did I read that right?"

I apparantly DIDN'T read it right ... he says "packaged" in a holiday tin ... but the point remains!

There are "smell lines" coming off the popcorn next to Mallard. What's with Tinsley and his ubiquitous "smell lines"?

The "smell lines" are because, in Tinshley's experience, pretty much everything in the world smells like unwashed laundry and beer farts. He has not yet figured out that's because those smells come from him, not his surroundings.

An intervention is needed. Fast

Okay, WTF is up with the snowman on the festive holiday tin? Tinsley apparently doesn't leave his house/drunken stupor enough to notice that a) snowmen don't typically have branches sticking out of the sides of their heads and b) branches do not typically have green leaves on them in the winter.

It might have started out as a reindeer, then Tinsley got drunk and drew a snowman face instead of a reindeer face, so he added leaves to the antlers and turned them into branches.
