What's Mallard talking about today?
Memorial Day.
No snark from me regarding Memorial Day remembrances.
But I do have to ask: Was it really worth it to jump the gun by a day and publish a Memorial Day Sunday panel when the only plan was to draw a huge pair of boots?

Ordinarily when a comic strip turns serious on Memorial Day, it feels like a well deserved break from the humor. But when the duck honors the holiday, he's being as humorless as ever.
I'll snark on this one. When was the last time we actually fought a war to defend our 'Freedom?' Certainly this war never involved any credible threat to American liberties, with the possible exception of the threat posed by the administration itself. There's nothing in the entire enterprise except an effort to feed the military industry and to further narrow commercial interests.
Our troops are all collaborators in a murderous industry that has caused the deaths of hundred of thousands of civilians. 'Freedom' my ass.
So is Tinsley admitting to us that Mallard could never fill in those boots?
(Wishes everyone and their families a respectful Memorial Day.)
Hal beat me to it. Even the Revolutionary War was fought so tax-dodging smugglers in Boston wouldn't spend the rest of their lives in prison.
Doonesbury and Opus are better.
Why are there shoelaces on that rock formation?
