That damned irrational fear

What's Mallard raving about today?

The Weather Channel, Golf Balls, Tax Cuts, Irrational Fear.

It took several tries for me to parse today's Mallard, in part because I had a hard time believing I was actually seeing what I was seeing.

But I am forced to conclude that Mallard actually said that he has equal distaste for his Straw Liberal's position on tax cuts and on "irrational fear of those who are different"...more commonly known as racism.

In other words, Mallard is all for racism and anyone without the stomach to be the same is a Liberal namby-pamby.

He's also in favor of homophobia, don't forget. In fact, it may be more directly covered by "irrational fear of those who are different".

I think he's trying to say that liberals wrongly blame "irrational fear of those who are different" for all sorts of things, things like racism and homophobia, which actually are based on real rational concerns like cooties and ickyness. But the liberal media ignores cooties and ickyness.

Is this the most bizarre continuing theme he's done?

Oh yeah, liberals see tornado damage and go, "yup, this wouldn't happen if gay marriage was legal."

Who believes this?

Do you think Tinz was watching the Weather Channel and saw one of the go green spots and cooked this up?

Wasn't it the rightwing that told us God sent a hurricane to smash New Orleans due to its liberal tolerance of gayness?

Pretty funny MF parodies are being posted at Something Awful. You'll have to skim through few pages, but it's there.

Every time there's an earthquake in California, someone is sure to blame the hedonists in San Francisco. I've never heard a single person say that terrible disasters are caused by bigotry, though. Rational people agree that places like California have been suffering natural disasters since before there were people (although perhaps the prehistoric beasts were sinners in the eyes of whatever deity was looking out for them - no wonder so many died out)

Key word: irrational.

Mallard thinks it's perfectly acceptable and rational to fear different people, and that his such fears are grounded in reality.

Irrational is actually his fear of the weather channel being bought, and his scenarios are even more delerious than the one I posted yesterday.

For someone who watches so much television, he certainly spends a lot of time avoiding those two channels if he thinks that political slanting is all they ever show.

Why does he give ABC a pass? I understand he must love Fox and all, but since when does ABC pass the duck sniff test?

After the San Francisco earthquake of 1906, there was this anonymous poem:

If, as they say, God spanked the town
For being over frisky,
Why did He burn the churches down
And save Hotaling's whiskey?

@2nd anon: He's only giving ABC a pass because they're not bidding on the Weather Channel. He'll get a hair up his agpssbzk about them soon enough, don't worry.

@rewinn: Yes it was. In fact, Tinz' whole arguing style is "No, you are!" I went to my local Hellplaza (Double-)Octoplex yesterday to see Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, and there was less projecting on all 16 screens combined than there is in the E. Bruce Tinsley oeuvre.

to the anonymous who's asking why he gave ABC a pass:

Perhaps because of "The Path to 9/11"?
