Those damned words

What's Mallard raving about today?

Massachusetts, Education.

This blather was a waste of everyone's time a week ago. The intervening time has not added any new insight from Mallard to justify using 20 extra words and the extra space of a Sunday panel to make the exact same point.

And there's that "Self-Esteem: The Silent Killer!!1" nonsense again. Sheesh. I wonder if Tinny knows what "self-esteem" means.

Well, since this strip's basically a rehash of earlier failures, I'll just repeat one of my earlier responses: "Evolutionary theory, video games, and self-esteem--they destroyed the Roman Empire, and they'll destroy you too!! Blarrrrrrrrrrr!!!"

That makes at least as much sense as Tinny's strip.

IANAMR, but I suspect that neither he nor his target audience does. All they know is that lib'ruls are fer it, and therefore, they're agin it.

And has more connection to objective reality.

What I learned from today's strip: Joblessness is the fault of Massachusetts schools!

That explains why employment is tanking during the Bush administration: he put Massachusetts in charge of America's education; that forced companies to ship manufacturing jobs to China.

And only Tinsley noticed.

What happened to this guy's waist and thighs in he second panel? He looks like Wile E. Coyote after a boulder landed on him. You could say that Tinsley is "drawing-ability-free".

Alternate dialogue for Monday's comic.

"All evidence clearly places you at high-lvel meetings authorizing torture. Our only hope is to let Fox News guide the media debate."

I love the way Mallard is referencing looming unemployment after eight years of the Bush administration's trashing of the economy.

Of course, our educational system would be much better if we just had more tax cuts.

I'm late to this, so no-one will probably read it, but I just thought I'd compare the unemployment/dropout rate of Massachusetts to Tinsley's home state of Indiana.

Massachusetts: 4.4% UE, 3.8% HSDR
Indiana: 5.7% UE, 11.9% HSDR

So obviously Taxachusetts is the one with the terrible education system.

Starshank, what your lying satistics don't show is that obviously Massachusetts' ignorant high school grads must be all moving to Indiana so that they can collect unemployment.

And Indiana's high school grads all go directly to Harvard and M.I.T.

These are the sort of facts that the liberal media will never tell you.
