Those damned Superdelegates

What's Mallard raving about today?

Superdelegates.

I think this was supposed to be a slap at Senator Clinton. What it turned out to actually be, however, is incomprehensible.

A C- is still passing. So it falls short.

Once again, Tinsley shows he's a lazy writer. I don't approve of Tinsley's politics, but if he REALLY wanted to mock Hillary over superdelegates the caption would read:

"I'm sorry, Billy, but you didn't come in first, even if you include superdelegates."

The extra words "test score", "C-Minus" et cetera just confuse things; the reader doesn't know whether Mallard's mocking standardized testing, education in general, or the Democratic primary. The nature of the contest in the cartoon is irrelevant; what counts is that Mature Adult won't let the Spoiled Child get away with fast talk.

And of course "Billy" instead of "Michael" would have been an extra source of humor for the rightwingers. Like I said, I don't approve of Tinsley's politics ... but there is no excuse for lazy writing.

"I sorry, Mallard, but your writing gets a D minus."
