That damned eMail

What's Mallard raving about today?

Federal Employees, Conservative Journalists.

I know. Those Liberal journalists at Fox, The Wall Street Journal, and the Washington Times just piss me off so much!

Drama queen.

Actually, you're the poorly rendered product of an alcoholic reactionary hack's limited imagination who has outstayed his welcome by a good 15 years or so.

Just helping.

Someone needs to point out to these people that Fox News is the number one rated news channel, and has been for the better part of a decade, to make no mention of unquestioned conservative dominance on talk radio. Complaints about the "liberal MSM" and in this case "endangered species" of conservative journalism are the absolute height of brainwashed propaganda.
Imagine, if you will, that the New York Yankees held a press conference to complain that the Boston Red Socks pay their players too much money. That's Ducky. And, frankly, all other republican talking heads.

"...the poorly rendered product of an alcoholic reactionary hack's limited imagination who has outstayed his welcome..."

Wouldn't that apply to "conservative" theory in general?

Actually, conservative theory is based on magical thinking, predjudice, ignorance, and false choice. I am not making this up. It's all there in the first 30 pages of Russell Kirk's "THE CONSERVATIVE MIND"

Lying isn't a principle as such, but it is one of the ways the modern "conservative" mind relates to the real world.

Hence Faux News and Blallard

It doesn't matter whether Mallard is right about federal employees. He will hate them no matter what, just because they work for the government.

Also, spouting your oversimplified opinions ad nauseam doesn't count as journalism.

The Conservative Persecution Complex comes roaring through once again. Nevermind they have all of AM radio, the cabal of Newscorp-owned properties, etc. etc. It's a deliberate talking point that lets the followers continue to believe a proven-to-fail doctrine by simply passing off blame when its shortcomings are reported.

"It's not that Trickle Down economics serve only as a brief, temporary jumpstart to the economy and fail long-term [see: late '20s crash, early '90s recession, current recession] it's LIBERAL MEDIA LIES!"

I do enjoy the irony of Tinz's duck-persona complaining about lazy workers.

*scribbles duck with one of two interchangeable expressions

* doesn't draw a background

* "SEND" And that's a wrap!

* drinks a fifth of Jim Beam, passes out

I have never, in all the months I've been following the strip through this blog, seen Mallard engage any anything that could be considered "journalism".

Editorializing, yes. Bloviating, sure. But journalism, nope.

Jazzbumpa --- Thanks for the reference to "The Conservative Mind"; I'll get it from the library. Judging by this essay by Kirk it should be quite a good read!

But again: considering Tuesday's cut-and-paste-onto-template strip, why is BT calling out anyone for not working hard enough? Does he have a day job we don't know about?

Get off the cross, Mallard. We need the wood.

You know, military personnel are federal employees.

Mallard, why do you hate our troops?
