That damned future

What's Mallard raving about today?

Stimulus, The Media.

Yeah, right.

I am not going to be lectured to by those who mortgaged their credibility on the deficit by cheer-leading as the Bush Administration run up the deficit in unprecedented fashion.

What DaveyK said.

Maybe if they let actual economists on TV, Mallard would know that the majority of them support the stimulus plan (and probably would have preferred a version that wasn't watered down just so Republicans could score political points).

Wow...I can't believe it. He actually drew a TV camera and a set. This is a landmark!

Ah euphemisms, the sole property of liberals, unlike "free-speech zone," "Operations Enduring Freedom and Iraqi Liberation," the PATRIOT Act, the Clean Skies Initiative and a host of others; those are all examples of straight talk, right?

WV: "pinogret": a type of vinaigrette made with a Pinot-type wine, usually used for basted canard.

WV: hasplat. The sound of a drunken cartoonist hitting the floor.

Yeah. We'd hate to mortgage our children's future, because if we did that, sometime in the future things might get really bad, economically speaking. It might cause a big drop in the Dow, massive unemployment, and a lot of businesses to fail, or something.

Does Tinsley have any kids? Because I do, and my kids are pretty freaked out right NOW. The future they thought they'd have when they got out of school is gone.

What terrible future can these newly-minted fiscal conservatives dream up that is worse than the one we are facing today? They just can't admit that their whole economic philosophy - cut taxes, cut spending - has been smashed to bits, so they keep repeating it. It's like bringing a firehose to a flood, but that's all they have.

The hell with you all! The gummint ain't comin' to git my money! I'm buying gold and holing up in the mountains! Oh, and Obama is also black!

Ah Michael! Why bring scientists into politics?

Why bring in facts at all?

Mallard's job is to sell ad space. For that he needs rage, not facts.

Kinda like his hero, the new leader of the Republican party, Rush.

Let's just make sure we're all clear here.

Illegal, trillion-plus dollar war to murder brown people for no reason: USA! USA! USA!

"Mainstream media," conservatives' craving for something to paint themselves as persecuted is tragically comic.

I've heard far more about deficit spending from the e-vile mainstream media in the past three weeks then in eight full years under Bush, and Obama actually has plans to make some of that up in his presidency. Bush just followed the Reagan model of "we'll be dead so who cares who's paying for it?"

12xuser's post was such a smackdown that it needed to be preceded with a pumped up wrestling-style promo.

That camera is really close to his head. I'd hate to see what the broadcast looks like.

Factinista,

Interesting observation in the context of Sunday's rant. Thank goodness WFDR-TV hasn't switched over to HD yet, who knows what viewers at home would see.

WV #2: "taxide" - A proven tonic for an ailing economy! From Keynes & Bros., apothecaries.

I knew this one looked familiar. This is the same exact comic Tinsley did a couple of years ago; he just changed the dialogue:

pagenumber=11

(it’s 9 posts down, I couldn’t get the pic’s link to work sorry)

Holy cow. And just when it seemed Tinsley couldn't get any lazier.

ZOMG! I followed you link and, sure 'nuf ... Tinkley just re-used here's a direct link to the first use (as far as we know).

Is the aptly-initialled DT begging us to go all Dean's Comic Booth on him?

I mean ... it'd be soooo easy to just re-write his artwork into something comical.

This is just so damn cool!

So, wonder does King Features know about this?
