That damned Past

What's Mallard raving about today?

Democrats, President Obama

I am somewhat jealous of the Republican ability to be completely stateless. Each criticism exists in blissful isolation for its own political gain, without any signs of the cognitive dissonance which should occur.

None of which is to say that there is not hypocrisy in individuals on both sides, much like what is hinted at in today's Mallard.

However the institutionally unique ability of Republicans to line up behind talking points, without any self-awareness of the inherent hypocrisy in the argument itself, is both mind-boggling and awe-inspiring.

Translation from the original Tinslistani:

Panel 1: You can't support the troops if you don't support the war.

Panel 2: You can't support America if you don't support Bush.

Panel 3: Bush and Obama are exactly the same.

Why is he depicting Anton Szandor Lavey as a liberal? I'd think he'd be more libertarian. You know, like Tinshley himself.

Could someone please give me an example of one of these alleged libruls allegedly saying "Obamerica, love it or leave it" or words to that effect? I mean, aside from people saying it ironically to drive right-wing jingo-types crazy? Because I don't think you can do it.

Thanks, Tinsley, for bringing attention to a problem that doesn't exist. Even here in San Francisco, I haven't seen anyone like that guy. Say, isn't there something more important you could be complaining about instead of imaginary people? I heard something about the economy, and I think there's something going on in foreign countries.

Ah, a good old trip to bizarro world. Where the phrase was not a common sign/bumper sticker for the past 8 years during the Bush administration and did not have roots in the 1960s against hippies.

Remember kiddies, democrats prolong depressions, the Nazis were liberals, Barrack's middle name is Hussein and liberals tell conservatives to love America or leave it. Because it all makes conservatives Sound Good and we don't want you thinking too hard about it.

And just to test your neocon reflexes: COMMUNISM!
