That damned Uncle Sam

What's Mallard raving about today?

President Obama.

All I can say is that if we pull out of this recession in 1-2 years, I hope Mallard ascribes credit to President Obama commensurate with the aspersions he's casting less than 2 months after he took office.

All of which is to say, constant complaining without any alternate suggestions is as useful as...well, it's simply not useful at all.

Tried, but I couldn't find an equivalent strip from six years ago with Bush demanding trillions and thousands of young Americans to throw into the pointless meat grinder of Iraq.

Anyone else?

Today's strip is especially nonsensical, given that the stimulus package includes ZERO tax increases on the vast majority of working Americans and, in fact, included the biggest tax cut in American history targeted directly at working- and middle-class households.

Ah but Squid you forget - Tinkley must be in that small fraction of America that makes over $250,000 a year!

(No doubt it's the collectibles. There's a big market in duck decoys.)

The funniest thing of all is that it feels to me like Uncle Sam!Obama is asking for my hand, not my money...

Tinsley's just following chapter 13 of the Good Republican Handbook:
"In the event that a DEMONcrat should ever hold the office of the president, and even Our Lord Rove cannot discredit him, cover thine ears and chant the Holy Phrase for 4 years: TAX AND SPEND TAX AND SPEND TAX AND SPEND TAX AND SPEND TAX AND SPEND TAX AND SPEND..."

He wants my what? Support? I'm going to infer he meant support and that Tinsley is admonishing the Republicans for being so obstinant.

Just to clarify I've noticed how those on the right take stances via cognitive dissonance and outright lying so I thought I'd try it with Mallard to see if it makes the comic any less ridiculous.

Oops! Forgot to make a joke!

"Dlauthor" read six years of Mallard Fillmore comics. Someone needs to put him in a straightjacket before he goes on a killing spree!

Actually, any recovery that occurs during Obama's term as president will be the result of W's economic wisdom, and wise long-term planning.

Madpuppy's right. I recall hearing from many conservatives in the late 1990s that the economic boom was the result of George H.W. Bush's hard work. No reason I should expect less from our conservative brethren the second time around.
