Those damned Stars

What's Mallard raving about today?

Television, Child Stars.

And yet Mallard has only moved enough to switch the side on which his snacks reside.

And change the color of his pajama top.

Given the two-week delay, this was probably written right after Gary Coleman died. Stay classy, Mallard.

Um...I never thought I'd say this, but can you please get back to incoherent swipes at liberal strawmen, Tinsley? ANYTHING is better than this viciously banal idiocy.

The thing is I seriously feel sorry for most child stars. Many of them never got a chance to have a real life, plenty of their friends were people who wanted to be friends with their mone,y their fame, their influence. In some cases (Gary Coleman being an example) their parents took heavily from them.

Not to mention that some of the Child Stars snapped due to stresses or found themselves trying to hide in self medication because after they stopped being cute or the show they got typecast in failed, things went badly.

But meh, I'm probably seeing too much into this.

It's summer! The sun is shining, the grass is growing, vacations are planned and children run free without school.

And in Mallard world, the TV has nothing good on it and that is so horrible as to deserve a cartoon.

Looks like "The Addams Family" is being passively stared at by a former egg that's let himself go.

"And what's the deal with airline food? It's always the same turkey sandwich -- and it's always so dry that you have to drink five double whiskeys with it, just for moisture!"

What is particularly outrageous, is that Gary Coleman for his entire life has had to deal with issues relating to dialysis and kidney transplant. As one who has been there, it is no picnic.

Note that Tinsley has never written, "this is about former coal miners dying of lung cancer," or, "this is is about former soldiers living on the street.

I see the Duck Crotch-Shot is back. It's as if Sharon Stone were a morally, intellectually, and artistically bankrupt waterfowl.
