Those damned Subsidies

What's Mallard raving about today?

Farm Subsidies, Politics.

Farm subsidies? Really? Hot topic at Mallard Fillmore HQ are they? Or did Glenn Beck just vomit something about Farm subsidies up recently?

One would think that slamming farm subsidies would not be the wisest move for someone who lives in Indiana.

It's funny because we're all still outraged that Obama engages in a very common political activity that is practiced by both sides.

I see we're back from the standard used when the GOP is in office (as long as no actual crime can be conclusively proved to have been committed, things are just fine) to the one used when Democrats are in (we cannot tolerate even the possibility of the appearance of a whiff of impropriety!).

FACTOID: Farm subsidies -- especially those of the mythical "we pay you not to grow anything" variety -- are welfare programs that disproportionately benefit Red States.

Such a panicked expression as Mallard begs for money and a job. Is this Requiem for a Dream, only the booze version? I'm glad this stops before he gets called "Maid Marian".

While I'm tempted to argue that Mallard's going along with farm subsidies when Republicans are in power suggests he's just a d@maned hippycrit, and to denounce the huge subsidies that go to ADM and suchlike, yet I so delighted for him so clumsily to associate Democrats with an extremely popular programs that I urge him to repeat this theme over and over, in his famous "#123 of a series".

Here's a few suggestions (employing Tinshley's patented "nonsense numerical sequence"):

#124 in a series: Don't you hate it when Democrats help register people to vote?

#57 in a series: Don't you hate it when Obama gets BP to offer $20 billion to pay for things taxpayers would otherwise have had to?

#93482324 in a series: Don't you hate it when liberals help hungry children get food?

Wow, thanks to the inclusion of farm subsidies, I'm tempted to actually click the "I agree" button.
