Those damned Cards

What's Mallard raving about today?

Racism, Democrats.

Mallard proves, once again, that quality and quantity are unrelated.

This, BTW, is seriously schizoid from a duck who was just recently complaining about accusations of racism against the Teabaggers.

So we can't "play the race card" over your incredibly racist comic from two days ago, Tinsley? That's awfully convenient for you. And what about your comic from way back in, oh, I don't know, TODAY, where you explicitly stated that you think the ENTIRE CIVIL RIGHTS MOVEMENT was nothing more than Democrats doing what you contemptuously call "playing the race card?" Darn! If only our race cards hadn't been revoked, we would be able to point out what an unbelievably racist pile of slime you are!

(But seriously, people, HOLY SHIT. How can even the most retrograde newspapers justify publishing this creep?)

Same ol' Batshit. Once he starts sweating because he realizes he's just turned in a set of strips absolutely trumpeting his own insidious bigotry, he's always compelled to follow up with a "racism is dead--and therefore, I can't be racist!!" strip to cover his worthless ass.

Beyond that, the last panel makes no sense. Yes, Batshit, we're well aware that you and your fellow racist assholes are all extremely excited by the presumed unstoppable triumph of the Teabagger Movement--but come Novemeber we'll just see what blows up in whose face.

Lord knows you and your ilk have been correct about everything so far, right?

It makes sense when you realize that Tin likes to blur the difference between the "race card" and the "racism card." One is used by conservatives to stir up the yokels against imaginary welfare moms and scary Kenyans, and the other is held up to indicate that the race card has just been played.

One guess which one he's against.

Mentioning "the race card" in a comic strip is an example of playing the race card.

What do you know, it IS somewhat ineffective and prone to backfire.

Is this still The Tinsh's self-proclaimed Week of Awesome Writing?

Fortunately for Tinshley, the nation's supply of whiny untalented alcoholic bigot cards remains undiminished.

Well, someone saw a rerun of The Daily Show from about two months back.

The Democrats played the race card? The Democrats? Really?

Hey, Tinkley, guess who said this:

You start out in 1954 by saying, "Nigger, nigger, nigger." By 1968 you can't say "nigger" — that hurts you. Backfires. So you say stuff like forced busing, states' rights and all that stuff. You're getting so abstract now [that] you're talking about cutting taxes, and all these things you're talking about are totally economic things and a byproduct of them is [that] blacks get hurt worse than whites. And subconsciously maybe that is part of it. I'm not saying that. But I'm saying that if it is getting that abstract, and that coded, that we are doing away with the racial problem one way or the other. You follow me — because obviously sitting around saying, "We want to cut this," is much more abstract than even the busing thing, and a hell of a lot more abstract than "Nigger, nigger."

Yes, that famous "Democrat", Lee Atwater.

I've never asked this before, Tinkley, but I really need to now: do you practice to be this stupidly bigoted, or does it just come naturally?

Not bad, for a change!

This guy could take a steaming dump on Bristol board for a week, and his syndicate would still publish it. Then the following week, he'd scrawl a strip complaining about his critics "playing the 'took a steaming shit' card."

Shorter "Mallard Fillmore":

"For the 3,837th time: WE'RE not the racists, YOU'RE the racists!!"

And Mallard's brain damage is apparently becoming more pronounced, as evidenced by one of his pupils drifting below the level of his bill. You should really see a doctor about that, Mallard. Ask if you can pay him in chickens.

If it wasn't for Batshit's two-week lag, one might have thought he was talking about this here white boy:

The aspiring film student who allegedly stabbed a cab driver because he was a Muslim told cops that he was being prosecuted because of his Irish heritage and faith when he was arrested last month.

"You're prosecuting me because I'm Irish Catholic," Michael Enright told cops, according to new court documents revealed Wednesday, the New York Daily News reported.

He later said he was Jewish, and told police they were "going to ruin the entire Jewish race" by locking him up. He also called himself a patriot, accused an officer of allowing Muslims to blow up buildings, asked for his mother and claimed that he only stabbed the driver in self defense.

9_9 Woooooo...(.)

Or perhaps he's crying about criticism of Laura Ingraham, whose rat's-ass book would go completely unnoticed if not for all the vile racial stereotyping? Or backing up gun-nut Failin' Flailin' Palin's defense of whiny racist "Dr." Laura Schlessinger?

...Nah. They're wrong-wingers. Besides, racism's SO over!

One of the nice things about reichwingers is that they are as incompetent as they are wrongheaded.

A cartoonist of ordinary intelligence could have made today's "comic" amusing, in an evil way. But lazy drawing and overwritten prose lulls the reader to sleep before the punch line.

If the "race card" is blowing up in the faces of minorities, it's because we've taken a step backwards and it has become okay again to stereotype and discriminate based on superficial details.

It is statistically impossible that every American has suddenly turned color-blind and fair-minded magically in the past year.
