That damned Sign

What's Mallard raving about today?

President Obama

That's right, because President Obama is the obstructionist preventing any and all change (except that which benefits the Koch brothers).

...While the GOP offers hopelessness and the same ol' same ol' nonsense about how tax breaks for the Already Preposterously Wealthy will create jobs. Oh, plus the added raving insanity of Michele Bachmann.

I think the choice is clear.

A lump of lazy, dishonest idiocy surrounded by empty space. Just like the inside of Brucie's head.

I'd describe it as art imitating life, if only "Mallard Fillmore" qualified as art.

So he's looking at a paper with the headline "budget deal" holding a sign that says "hope and same ol' same ol'". Ummm...what?

If I remember correctly the president offered them a Grover Norquist wet dream in budget cuts if only they would agree to some tiny revenue increases. But they were to insane to take the deal. This is all the president's fault!!1!!1!!

Yep, same ol' same ol' national deficit as George W. Bush and Ronald Reagan. If only a recent president had managed to turn the deficit into a surplus (only to have it ruined by a vile and capering bonobo in a suit who sure liked him some tax cuts and blowin' up brown people). But that never happened, did it, Drinky?

Funny thing: Obama is the most traditionally Republican candidate in the race. He's basically a black Nixon, only slightly more conservative.

Like "Same Ol' Same Ol'" isn't this strip's mission statement.
